‘Dance Moms’: Christi Lukasiak Regrets Getting Frustrated With Chloé
Chloé Lukasiak and her mother, Christi Lukasiak, have always been favorites in the Dance Moms fandom. The pair were a part of the original cast and appeared in the very first episode of the show. They were regulars until they exited at the end of season 4 due to poor treatment. However, they eventually came back in season 7 after Chloé’s former teammates severed their ties with Abby Lee Miller.
Christi Lukasiak has received criticism from some ‘Dance Moms’ fans
Thanks to her sweet demeanor and talent for dance, fans of Dance Moms are typically overwhelmingly positive about Chloé. Christi, however, has received her fair share of criticism throughout the years. Viewers sometimes disagree with her remarks and general behavior. Furthermore, one dancer has even called Christi out for a racist remark that she made during filming.
One persistent critique of Christi is that she was too hard on Chloé at times. While she was generally supportive of her daughter, and set her up for success, at times, she seemed to get frustrated with her. One particularly memorable scene on Dance Moms involves Christi threatening to take her daughter’s phone away. “If you do your whole like ‘I’m so nervous’ garbage, like how you’re looking like this, your phone’s gone,” Christi said. “I’m so tired of always talking you off the ledge.”

Naturally, many Dance Moms fans found the aforementioned moment (and others) unsettling. And it turns out that they aren’t the only ones. In a recent YouTube video, Christi admitted that she regretted taking her frustrations with the show out on Chloé. She tried to provide fans with context about why she reacted the way that she did.
“I see Chloé getting picked on,” Christi recalled. “You know, she’s being put at the bottom of the pyramid, she’s being told that she’s not good enough, all these things. And I know what’s she’s capable of doing, but she’s not showing up like I know she could. She was wrestling with her own things because she couldn’t get out of her head to do it. But, in my mind, I’m thinking to myself, if you just do what I know you’re capable of doing all of that other bad stuff will stop.”
In the video, Christi explained that she didn’t consider that Chloé was unable to rise to the occasion because she was constantly being broken down. Now, however, she’s able to look back at the situation with more clarity and understand that the way she reacted was wrong.

“I look back at that and that is a huge mistake I made,” the Dance Moms alum admitted. “And I tried to be supportive, but I can see it in some of those scenes where I’m frustrated. And it’s not that I’m frustrated with her, I was frustrated with the situation. But, unfortunately, it was coming out at times on her. That’s something I really had to work through and that’s a huge mistake.”
Fortunately, it seems that Chloé and Christi have found peace after their Dance Moms tenure. “I think all is well now,” Christi shared. “Like Chloé and I worked thought that.” It’s a shame that the reality TV show was so stressful for the mother-daughter duo. However, they seem to be beyond the drama now.
