Dancing with the Stars has been a part of the ABC lineup for 30 seasons. During that time, hundreds of celebrities have competed for a mirrorball trophy. However, only a small number have made it to the top three of their season. Therefore, there are a plethora of talented celebrity dancers who missed out on their moment in the spotlight, leading fans to Reddit where they begged for an All-Star season, claiming “it would be iconic” to see some of their favorites return to the ballroom.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ has only had one All-Star season

In 30 seasons, there has only been one All-Star season of Dancing with the Stars.

Despite its star-studded casts, DWTS had only done one all-star season back in 2012.

Season 15’s cast consisted entirely of previous celebrity contestants from across the years. It was the first time previous contestants returned to the ballroom to vie for the coveted mirror ball trophy.

Olympians and former DWTS winners Apolo Ohno (season 4) and Shawn Johnson (season 8) appeared alongside fellow champs from seasons’ past. These included 98 Degrees member Drew Lachey (season 2), former Dallas Cowboys star Emmitt Smith (season 3), Brazilian race car driver Helio Castroneves (season 5), and soap star Kelly Monaco (season 1).

Actors Pamela Anderson (season 10) and Kirstie Alley (season 12), actor Gilles Marini (season 8), and ‘N Sync singer Joey Fatone (season 4) also competed.

Rounding out the pack was Bristol Palin (season 11) and TV personality Melissa Rycroft (season 8).

Subsequently, Dovolani and Rycroft were paired for season 8 where they came in third place.
