It’s been a while since DC’s Stargirl fans have seen Courtney Whitmore and the Justice Society of America in action. But luckily, The CW has announced an official summer premiere date for the DC superhero series. Here’s the scoop on when DC’s Stargirl season 2 comes out and what else viewers can expect from the thrilling new season —  including where to watch it, the episode count, returning cast, and new additions.

What is the ‘DC’s Stargirl’ season 2 release date?

The freshman season of DC’s Stargirl premiered simultaneously on DC Universe and The CW in May 2020. The series was renewed in July 2020, just weeks before the season finale. 

Unfortunately, due to pandemic-related delays in production, the series could not make a late spring premiere. But as announced by The CW, Stargirl will be back for season 2 on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 8 p.m. EST.

How many episodes in season 2 of ‘DC’s Stargirl’?

Season 1 of DC’s Stargirl aired with a total of 13 episodes. And it looks like season 2 will be the same length.

With a premiere date of August 10, the second 13-episode season should run until October 2.

How to watch ‘DC’s Stargirl’ season 1 and season 2

Unlike the first installment, which aired on both DC Universe and The CW, season 2 of DC’s Stargirl will exclusively be on The CW. Fans will be able to watch new episodes on the network on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST. And for those looking to stream, episodes will be available the next day via The CW app and website. 

Those who want to revisit the debut season of Stargirl can find the series’ first 13 episodes streaming on HBO Max. Eventually, the second season will also be accessible via HBO Max.  

Who is in the ‘DC’s Stargirl’ cast for season 2?

DC’s Stargirl season 2 will feature the return of Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore, aka Stargirl, and Luke Wilson as her stepdad sidekick, Pat Dugan, aka S.T.R.I.P.E. And Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, and Cameron Gellman will reprise their roles as her Justice League of America team.

Amy Smart and Trae Romano will be back as Courtney’s mom, Barbara, and step-brother, Mike. And Meg DeLacy will return as her nemesis, Cindy Burman. 

Season 2 will also feature a few additional cast members. Jim Gaffigan will voice the JSA superhero, Thunderbolt alongside Alkoya Brunson, who will take on the role of Jakeem Williams. The Flash star John Wesley Shipp will appear as The Flash. And Arrow star Nick Tarabay will portray the supervillain, Eclipso.
