Demi Lovato has come thundering back into the spotlight after some extended time away to deal with substance abuse. The Camp Rock star never seemed happier, and fans were thrilled when she found love with actor, Max Ehrich.
Now, just two months into their engagement, Lovato and Ehrich have called it quits. After digging into the actor’s past, Lovato’s fans think she dodged a bullet.

After a whirlwind seven months and just two months after their romantic engagement, it appears that the singer and the actor won’t live happily ever after. An insider revealed to People, that both the engagement between Lovato and Ehrich as well as their relationship is no more. The source explained,
It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers. They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together.
So far, neither the Young and the Restless actor or the “Confident” singer have made any public statements about their breakup. However, there were hints that things were no longer going smoothly

Recently fans noticed that Lovato had not liked any of Ehrich’s recent social media posts, which she’d been doing since they went public with their romance. Also, the singer’s sister, Dallas Lovato, good friends Matthew Scott Montgomery and Max Lea, and her makeup artist Jill Powell were no longer following Ehrich on social media.
Considering the speed in which Lovato and Ehrich’s relationship was moving, an insider previously told E! Online that Lovato’s closest friends and loved ones were very uncertain about Ehrich and his intentions. The insider revealed, “People close to Demi have expressed that they are worried and are hesitant about Max.”

Since Lovato has been through so much publicly, everyone seemed to be happy for her. Speaking about meeting Ehrich just before quarantine mandates came down, the singer told The Morning Mash Up,
We started dating. We immediately went into quarantine. I knew I loved him the night I met him. So a week later we went into quarantine. I was like, ‘Look, we’re quarantining together. Um, cause I love you, We were able to share this time together that we wouldn’t have normally gotten to spend,. And that accelerated our relationship on a level that you can’t really explain to people, but quarantine either makes or breaks the deal. And it really made that. So I’m really blessed, really fortunate and continuing to count my blessings every day.
However, recently, Ehrich’s old tweets that pitted Lovato and singer Selena Gomez against each other resurfaced. One tweet from 2010 read, “Hahaha selena gomez and demi are cute together [sic] but boy if you think demi is prettier…you’re WRONG!” Lovato’s fans also dug further into the actor’s Instagram comments which proved he obsessively tried to get the attention of other celeb women including, Bella and Gigi Haid as well as Madison Beer.
It seems like this was enough for Lovato to take pause.
