Demi Lovato Reacts to Wilmer Valderrama and Amanda Pacheco Engagement News
Wilmer Valderrama is engaged and it seems his ex, Demi Lovato, is happy about his news, despite her fans expressing how upset they are that Valderrama got engaged so quickly.
Valderrama announced his engagement
Valderrama announced the exciting news of his engagement to girlfriend Amanda Pacheco, but Lovato’s fans were upset that he popped the question after less than a year, while he never proposed to the singer while they were dating.
The actor took to Instagram to share the news, with the caption: “‘It’s just us now’ 01-01-2020” accompanying a photo of him proposing to Pacheco by the ocean. She shared the same photo as well as a close-up view of the beautiful ring.
Lovato’s fans were raging
Lovato’s fans, it seems, weren’t so pleased by the news and took to Twitter to start ranting. One fan tweeted: “DEMI WAS W WILMER FOR 6 FU**IN YEARS SHE WROTE A SONG BASICALLY BEGGING HIM TO PROPOSE AND EVERYTHING AND HE PROPOSE TO THIS GIRL AFTER BARELY A YEAR???? LMFAOOOO demi hunny this is why you never beg a man for ANYTHING PERIOD TF.”
Another fan expressed this opinion: “Wilmer’s ass was with Demi when she barely turned 18 yet never gave her an engagement ring when he was with her for over 6 years but he decide to pop the question to this other girlie knowing Demi still cared about him? This is what I’m talking about: Demi deserves better.”
Still another fan tweeted: “demi and wilmer were together for a quarter of a decade.. demi wrote the song yes for him.. but he proposes to a girl that he hasn’t even been dating for a year now… yeah my fist is sorta shaking…”
Not everyone was piling on the hate, however, as one Twitter user noted: “demi and wilmer broke up 4 years ago and her stans are so mad he proposed to his current girlfriend LMAOO y’all ok????”
Demi Lovato is supportive of the news
Despite the fan uproar over the engagement news, Lovato is reportedly supportive of her ex-boyfriend.
A source told E! News: “She’s happy for Wilmer if he’s happy. She always wants the best for him in life and is glad he has found love.”
The insider added: “They will always be friends and have a special place in each other’s hearts. But she also realized he wasn’t going to be her life partner and she’s known that for a while. She moved on from that and has been going in a different direction. She wishes him all the best though.”
The couple dated for six years and split in 2016, announcing the breakup in a joint statement, telling their fans, “After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship. This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years.”
