It’s not a secret that male actors often get paid more than their female counterparts. That can be awkward if they have relationships with their co-stars.

Demi Moore has been open about her fight for equal pay for years. She talked about Bruce Willis getting paid more than her recently.

The first movie the actors did together was Mortal Thoughts, which was released in 1991. The thriller showed Cynthia Kellogg (Moore) getting interrogated by Detective John Woods (Harvey Keitel) and Detective Linda Nealon (Billie Neal) about the murder of her husband. Willis played James Urbanski in the movie.

The couple was already married when the movie was made. They later wouldn’t be in the same project again until 1996 when they voiced characters in Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.

They then divorced in 2000, but would work together one more time. Moore played Madison Lee in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Willis had a very small role as DOJ official William Rose Bailey in it.

She received backlash for her ‘Striptease’ pay

Moore made a lot of money in the height of her career. But she did get judged for it. She played Erin Grant in the 1996 movie, Striptease and was reportedly paid $12.5 million for the role. The actor then received backlash for that.

She still had a positive outlook on the situation saying it “was an honor, and with that came a lot of negativity and a lot of judgment towards me, which I’m happy to have held if it made a difference,” according to The New York Times.

Moore was asked if she thinks it made a difference. “I do, actually. I know that it really resonated,” she said. “It’s not about me doing it. I was just the instrument by which it was done. Clearly it didn’t do enough because we’re still, this many years later, dealing with it.”

She said Willis was paid more

Why Did Demi Moore and Emilio Estevez End Their Engagement?

Moore appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden to promote her memoire. She played “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” with the talk show host.

Corden mentioned Moore is a poineer for equal pay for women in Hollywood. He asked her to name one actor who was paid more than her and didn’t deserve it.

“Where do I start the list? OK I don’t know if I could say he didn’t deserve. That’s not necessarily up to me to say. I say Bruce Willis,” she answered. The actor then began laughing. She then repeated that she can’t say he didn’t deserve it.

Moore didn’t name which project she was talking about either so it’s a mystery. It sounds like Moore knows Willis was paid more than her for something, but it leaving it up to other people to decide whether he deserved it or not.
