Demon Slayer has reached the climax of its Entertainment District Arc, and the anime is once again proving why it’s become such a massive hit. Following a shocking revelation about the Upper Moon 6, an intense battle between the Demon Slayers and Muzan Kibutsuji’s minions has begun. And Demon Slayer Season 2 is highlighting just how powerful Gyutaro and Daki really are.

Gyutaro and Daki are more powerful than Daki alone

When Demon Slayer Season 2 introduces Daki, her claims about being the Upper Moon 6 seem suspicious — especially after Tanjiro survives an encounter with her. Only after the anime reveals that she’s fused with her brother does her place in the Twelve Kizuki begin to make sense. And the two underscore how powerful they are in Entertainment District Arc Episode 8, “Gathering.”

Demon Slayer set up a battle between Tengen Uzui and Gyutaro in last week’s installment. “Gathering” delivers on that fight, and things aren’t leaning in Tengen’s favor. In fact, Gyutaro and Daki are proving themselves two incredibly powerful opponents. Even with all the Demon Slayers coming together, the sibling duo will be difficult to beat.

Gyutaro may have sealed Tengen’s fate in ‘Demon Slayer’s latest episode

Gyutaro already became a worrisome opponent when he showed off his Blood Demon Art in “Transformation.” His ability to attack his enemies with flying blood sickles took even Tengen Uzui by surprise. As it turns out, those sickles contain poison.

That revelation means Gyutaro might have already sealed the Sound Hashira’s fate in Demon Slayer Season 2. Although Tengen is taking his poisoning like a champ, the latest episode sees him struggling. And that’s not to mention the purple rash spreading on the side of his head.

Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu take up arms to help Tengen fight the Upper Moon 6 demons. But Daki is using her sash to prevent the group from getting to her brother. Holding her off is keeping Zenitsu and Inosuke preoccupied, and Tanjiro’s in barely any shape to fight following his one-on-one with her. Could the Daki and Gyutaro come out on top of this battle?

So, can Tengen Uzui and the younger Demon Slayers defeat Gyutaro and Daki? It’s hard to see them failing their mission, especially with Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu still in the early stages of their training. The anime seems poised to get a season 3, which means the main characters will likely move on from this fight.

That said, their success might come at a cost. With Tanjiro injured and Tengen poisoned, there’s no telling if everyone makes it out of the Entertainment District Arc alive. Fans will need to keep watching to see how the action plays out. Whatever happens next, viewers aren’t likely to underestimate Gyutaro and Daki again.

New episodes of Demon Slayer Season 2 drop on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu every Sunday.
