Kensington Palace is denying a claim that Kate Middleton got Botox, after a plastic surgeon posted side-by-side photos of Middleton as proof of his claim. London’s Dr. Munir Somji of the Dr. Medi Spa Clinic pointed out that the lines on her forehead in one photo were reduced.

Plastic surgeon makes Botox claim on Instagram

Dr. Munir Somji posted the photos of Middleton and shared his expert opinion on how one photo showed visibly reduced fine lines.

He captioned the photos on Instagram (which have now been deleted): “Our Kate loves a bit of baby Botox. Patients come from far and wide to see me for this procedure. It truly is so simple… There is no excuse for doctors to leave patients with brows on the floor. Note the reduction of fine lines on the forehead. But also note the depression of the medial (middle part) brow but elevation of the lateral tail of the brow.”

He added: “The magic of baby Botox is that it does not leave you feeling so heavy and provides you with a subtle reduction of lines as well as a better eyebrow position.”

Kensington Palace responds

While the Palace doesn’t typically respond to such rumors, they did address the plastic surgeon’s claim, in a statement to the New York Post, saying the statements about the duchess are “categorically not true” and “in addition, The Royal Family never endorse commercial activity.”

The spa’s marketing manager, Sammy Curry, explained to The Post that they “wouldn’t be able to disclose whether [Middleton] is a client or not,” adding, “We have non-disclosure agreements where we can’t disclose our high-end clients. We absolutely can’t comment at all that she has come to us.”

What is baby Botox?

Curry further shared that Somji posted photos of Middleton because “He thought it was a good comparison picture to use to show the effects of Botox and obviously baby Botox which he does himself.”

Curry added, “He just wanted to show the transformation that it can create and obviously how it can be used for subtle results and how it’s really good for anti-aging.”

Baby Botox is the same as Botox, according to Curry, but is injected differently — in smaller amounts, but in more sites on the forehead and around the mouth. She shared: “This gives the effect of Botox, but you won’t have the frozen look. You will get expression in your face. It’s good as a starting point off with Botox because it has more subtle results than going into a normal procedure of Botox.”

Middleton maintains a healthy lifestyle

Middleton’s skin is definitely flawless, but likely the result of healthy living.

A source told Us Weekly in June that the duchess makes exercise a priority, noting: “Every morning Kate gets up with the sunrise to jog around Kensington Palace, or heads over to Buckingham Palace to swim before the children wake. She finds exercise crucial to her mental well-being.”

Over the years, it’s been reported that Middleton favors plenty of fruits and vegetables in her diet, with a source telling the Daily Mail in 2014: “Kate already has the perfect figure but her motivation is to achieve radiant skin.”
