Do Beyoncé and Her Sister, Solange, Get Along?

Beyoncé is not one to really share a lot from her personal life with the world.

Other than the occasional photos of her kids and husband, the singer has chosen to keep her personal relationships with others in her family to a minimum.

Even though that is the case, there is one person in Beyoncé life who she cherishes the most, and that is her younger sister, Solange.

Beyoncé and Solange have built such a strong relationship as sisters that they consider each other best friends, and have a love for each other that is unparalleled.

Beyoncé and Solange are each other’s biggest supporters

Over the years, Beyoncé and Solange have gone in different directions when it came to their music careers.

Beyoncé was topping chart after chart with hit songs while Solange was co-writing and co-producing for fellow musical artists, as well as herself.

Though they took different paths, these two sisters have remained each other’s biggest supporters in anything they have done.

Solange grew up always looking up to Beyoncé and the impact her big sister continues to have on the music industry.

While Beyoncé was selling out stadiums across the world and blowing minds with her out of this world performances, Solange was the first one to cheer on her sister loud enough for everyone to hear.

Beyoncé has also returned the favor.

Once Solange began her music career back when she was 14, Beyoncé has been fangirling over her sister ever since.

The “Formation” singer has always talked about how proud she is of Solange and has no problem saying it over and over again.

While sitting down with each other and Interview Magazine back in 2017, Beyoncé revealed that she always knew her sister was meant for greatness.

“But I’m so happy to interview you because, clearly, I’m your biggest fan and I’m super proud of you…I remember thinking, ‘My little sister is going to be something super special,’ because you always seemed to know what you wanted,” Beyoncé told Solange during their interview.

They didn’t start out having a close relationship

Though they are practically inseparable today, Beyoncé and Solange were not as close back when they were younger.

During the early years, the two sisters’ relationship was strained due to Beyoncé prepping to be the international superstar she is today.

Most of Queen Bee’s time back then, was consumed by performing and hanging out with fellow group member, Kelly Rowland.

When Solange was five years old, Rowland moved into the Knowles household and Beyoncé found herself spending more time with her friend rather than her sister.

Once Solange became a teenager, the sisters found themselves spending more time together and eventually established the unbreakable bon they have now.

Even though they took some time becoming close, Beyoncé was still a good big sister to Solange.

During their Q&A session with Interview magazine, Beyoncé asked her sister, “… honestly, growing up, how did I do as a big sister?”

Solange replied, “You did a kicka** job. You were the most patient, loving, wonderful sister ever. In the 30 years that we’ve been together, I think we’ve only really, like, butted heads … we can count on one hand.”

Solange and Beyoncé have the most ideal relationship as sisters

With both Beyoncé and Solange focusing on empowering African American females through their music, they still make time for one another.

Solange has always looked up to Beyoncé and finds that there is no one more fitting to confide in about motherhood, friendship, and fame than her sister.

These two sisters have been through a lot together and even though many would think their careers would keep them apart, they are showing the world that their relationship as sisters is and will continue to grow with time.
