It’s not just her music that makes this artist so special. For some fans, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is a style icon, showcasing her Texas roots and unique flair. She even launched her own IVY PARK x Adidas line of athletic clothing. Does Beyoncé have a stylist? Here’s what we know about the people behind some of Beyoncé’s most iconic looks

Beyoncé longtime stylist, Ty Hunter, commented on working with the artist

Queen Bey may be one of the most powerful women in the music industry. However, she often doesn’t do it all by herself. Although Beyoncé sometimes chooses her wardrobe and even won a CFDA Fashion Award, there are a few people behind this artist helping her create her iconic music video and stage looks.

Although Beyoncé often has a say in the clothing she wears, there are a few stylists behind this Grammy Award-winning diva. Her longtime stylist, Ty Hunter, had his first styling credit with the “Survivor” music video. He’s since worked with Beyoncé’s sister, Solange, and the individual members of Destiny’s Child during their solo careers. That includes Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

“Beyoncé’s the type of person who’s not into labels. She’s like, ‘Whatever’s hot, why not?’ That’s what I liked about her,” Ty Hunter said during an interview with W Magazine. “I was able to help a lot of young designers and start their careers, while working for her, like Michael Costello and Rubin Singer. Whatever she feels comfortable in works. That’s why we were able to help a lot of peoples’ careers—and still do.”

Beyoncé’s had a few other stylists, including celebrity stylist Zerina Akers

This performer had more than one stylist throughout her career, though. One of which was Zerina Akers. Some of Akers’ other clients include Chloe x Halle (Halle Bailey of Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid,) Dee Rees, and Niecy Nash. Of course, one of the biggest names she’s worked with is Beyoncé.

“I try to incorporate [diversity] into my life as a stylist by working with all different shapes and sizes,” Akers said during an interview with Refinery29. She didn’t exactly share what it’s like in the private life of Miss Carter, but she did share that some of her inspirations come from “girls in the hood.”

Beyoncé often plays a role in choosing her visuals

Although Beyoncé has some help when it comes to her music video looks, she had a huge say in her own line of clothing, IVY PARK, and their recent collaboration with the athletic company, Adidas. The products included sneakers, jackets, and “athleisure,” all in hues of maroon, orange, and white. Within a matter of days, all products in her collection sold out.

Beyoncé also explained how she came up with the hot pink and yellow costumes for her groundbreaking Coachella performance, highlighted in the Netflix documentary special, Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé. Fans can also hear Beyoncé’s voice in Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Lion King.
