Kylie Jenner may enjoy the glitz and glamour that is her life, but just like many other celebrities, she too has experienced the negative side of fame.

The makeup mogul has been in the spotlight since she was nine years old, and though many great opportunities have come her way due her growing popularity, being a well-known celebrity is something Jenner has never really been a huge fan of.

Jenner has thought about what life would be like if she wasn’t famous

Jenner has lived a life many of us could only dream of living.

From having a closet full of designer clothes and shoes to having everyone in the world know your name, the makeup mogul’s luxurious life doesn’t sound all that bad to us.

Though many wouldn’t be opposed to walking in her shoes for a day, Jenner claims that being famous isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be, and her comments about fame prove that a ton of hardships comes along with being an A-list celebrity.

Over the years, the makeup mogul has gotten pretty candid about life in the spotlight. Though she’s fortunate for everything she has, Jenner previously revealed that she’s fantasized about what her life would be like if she wasn’t famous.

“I do think about if I didn’t have to be famous,” she said during an exclusive interview with Evening Standard Magazine in May 2018. “And it’s like a fantasy sometimes, but there’s really not one problem I have. You figure out how to deal with it.”

During a 2016 interview with Complex magazine, Jenner confessed that being famous deprived her of doing ordinary things growing up and shared that she’d jump at the chance to experience a sense of normalcy.

“I don’t hate my life,” Jenner said. “I’m happy. But everything that comes with it—the paparazzi and not being able to do normal things? I’ve been famous for what feels like my whole life. I just want to know what it feels like not to be.”

She cherishes the moments she gets to feel normal

Though fame has it’s perks, Jenner loves when she gets to just be herself and doesn’t have to put up an appearance for the public or her social media following.

“I feel like this fame thing is going to come to an end sooner than we think. I’m getting the bug again, where I just want to run away. I just don’t know who I’m doing it for,” she said on an episode of Life of Kylie. “The new goal in my life is to just live. I live the most extraordinary life, and I’m very grateful. But the moments I feel completely normal and just a 19-year-old girl, it’s the best.”

Though living life in the spotlight is a big part of her family’s brand, fame has caused Jenner to lose sight of herself over the years.

“We have all eyes on us, all the time, so especially for me, at my age, trying to find myself – it’s hard to not let it affect you,” she said during a 2015 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. “Having older sisters with some of the same insecurities as me helps me a lot, and makes me feel like it’s okay.”

While Jenner has been finding ways to deal with the negative effects of fame over the years, she doesn’t plan to keep doing so for the rest of her life.

In 2016, Jenner told Allure that she doesn’t want to live this lifestyle forever and sees herself giving up fame once she feels like the time is right.

“I know I don’t want to be famous forever,” she said. “There’s gonna be a time where I feel comfortable, I’m at a good place in my life, and I just stop.”

So as you can see, being in the spotlight is not something Jenner particularly enjoys and probably never will.
