Meghan Markle had an interesting life before marrying Prince Harry from acting in Suits to having a lifestyle blog. She had to leave those things behind to become the Duchess of Sussex. But does she have any tattoos from her life before royalty? Here is everything to know about whether Meghan Markle has any tattoos.

The British royal family seems to have rules for everything. So you might be surprised to find out that there isn’t a rule against tattoos.

According to Bustle, Prince Albert Edward got a tattoo of five crucifixes and three crowns while visiting Jerusalem in 1862. His sons, Prince Albert Victor and his brother George followed suit years later by getting tattoos at the same parlor in Jerusalem.

There is also a royal today who has multiple tattoos. She is Prince Harry and Prince William’s cousin named Lady Amelia Windsor. One tattoo is of a lion on her shoulder blade, bears on her arm, and a geometric shape on her side.

She also opened up about her tattoos to Elle and revealed the inspiration behind one. “I’d always like another tattoo,” Lady Amelia Windsor said “but you should only get a tattoo if you’re really sure about it. I’ve got two tattoos on my wrist. One is of three bear cubs, which represent my brother, sister and I because we saw three cubs in Canada when we were really little and thought they were us on the beach. It was a really magical moment.”

So if Meghan Markle does have any tattoos it wouldn’t exactly be against the grain for the royal family.

Meghan Markle doesn’t have any tattoos

The Duchess of Sussex doesn’t have tattoos that people know of like most of the royal family so she fits in quite well. Instead, she has been keeping her “tattoos” to henna and jewelry. She wore a diamond pendant on a silver chain named “Tattoo Pendant” while on a trip to New Zealand.

Although the Meghan Markle doesn’t have any tattoos, she has weirdly behind the inspiration of other people getting them.

Fans were reportedly getting tattoos to have freckles like Meghan Markle

Not long after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding it was reported that people were getting tattoos to add freckles to their faces to look like the new Duchess of Sussex.

Atlanta tattoo artist, Gabrielle Rainbow told New Beauty that she has been “crazy busy” because of this request. “[Markle’s wedding] boosted customers’ interest in the whole idea of freckles,” explained Rainbow. The process reportedly involves small punctures that lead to swelling for a few hours. Once that goes down people are left with what looks like freckles.

However, this procedure is unlike most tattoos because of the “freckles” fading over time. This leads for the tattoos to look more natural, but it also means that they aren’t permanent. The service costs $250 and it lasts for two to three years.

So Meghan Markle doesn’t have tattoos herself, but some of her biggest fans do because they want to look like her.
