Rappers Offset and Cardi B have had a very public relationship. The pair wed secretly in 2017, and though they seem head over heels for one another, the Migos rapper’s infidelities caused a rift in their relationship.

In Dec. 2018, just a few months after Cardi B gave birth to the couple’s first child, Kulture Kiari –the Invasion of Privacy rapper announced that she and Offset would be divorcing. As a result, the Father of 4 MC began a very public apology tour to try and get his wife back. Though the couple has been back together for a couple of months now–many people were alarmed by Offset’s grand gestures, especially when he crashed one of his wife’s performances to beg for forgiveness.

Offset’s botched apology to Cardi B

As soon as Cardi B announced her intent to divorce her husband, Offset jumped into action. He apologized to his wife for his behavior on a series of social media posts promising to remain faithful. However, many people were horrified when he ran on stage at one of the “Please Me” rapper’s live shows in Dec. 2018 begging for a second chance. He had stagehands rollout boxes of roses that spelled out “Take Me Back Cardi” that were reportedly worth $15,000.

At the time –Cardi B. also seemed equally alarmed and she quickly waved her husband off the stage. The rapper explained his rationale by saying, “All of my wrongs have been made public, I figure it’s only right that my apologies are made public too.”

At the time, TMZ reported, “He has been pursuing her hard and trying to convince her to get back together with him since the day they split.” Luckily, Offset learned that his public antics weren’t going to repair his relationship and over the holidays and into the new year –the pair began working to rebuild their marriage –privately.

Does Offset regret publicly apologizing to Cardi B?

Though his public and rather botched apology caused a media circus at the time –Offset does not regret publically apologizing to Cardi B. During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Atlanta native told DeGeneres,

I love my wife, so it’s serious — it’s not a game to me. We have schedules and we have shows and I just felt like … I can’t give that break between time, so it’s my forefront, I step to it as a man to say I’m wrong. I step to it as a man, and you don’t have to take me back but I just want you to know I love you and I care and I’m putting it all out on the table. I asked her to marry me in Philadelphia at the radio show in front of 60,000 people. And when I did that, they were like, ‘Oh why’d he do that?’ Because it’s my affection showing; I’m not hiding it. I’m not hiding my affection for you, that’s all. That’s just me being vulnerable, I guess.

Inside Cardi B and Offset’s marriage today

Luckily, things seem to be going much more smoothly for the rappers’ marriage today. Offset was on stage with his wife when she won her first Grammy in Feb. 2019. At the time, Cardi told People, “[We’re] just taking things slow. We have a baby right now. That’s like our real big focus.”
