The anime movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero merch preview teased the return of Ultimate Gohan. The son of Goku first power up to his Ultimate form in the Dragon Ball Z Buu Saga, when Elder Kaioshin unlocked Gohan’s power. Dragon Ball Super upgraded Ultimate Gohan even more, and now it looks like his powered-up form will return again in the movie.

‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ merch hints at the return of Ultimate Gohan

New Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero came along with character models and short bios. Gohan, Pan, Dr. Hedo, Broly, and Gotenks all got new Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero merch previews.

Gohan’s boi reads as: “First we have Ulitmate Gohan, who we saw in the new movie’s key visual! Just what kind of enemy will he be going up against in this, his most powerful form?!”

The wording of the bio has confused some fans.

One of the biggest draws of the Dragon Ball series remains the new forms and fusions. It seems odd for Gohan to reach his “most powerful form.”

The anime movie could finally put him on par with Goku and Vegeta again

While it once seemed like Dragon Ball Z set up Gohan to one day surpass Goku and Vegeta in power, Dragon Ball Super has focused almost exclusively on the older Saiyans.

Goku achieved the ridiculously powerful Ultra Instinct in Dragon Ball Super. Meanwhile, Vegeta traveled to the planet Yardrat and learned about Spirit Control. Since Goku and Vegeta have been longtime rivals, they constantly power up at similar paces.

Ultimate Gohan had some new power in the Dragon Ball Super anime, but it came nowhere close to the abilities that Goku and Vegeta boasted. And Goku has powered up a lot since the original Dragon Ball anime.

However, the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero could finally change that and push Gohan closer to his father’s power levels.

Gohan first appeared in the Dragon Ball Z Raditz Saga as a young child. However, over the years, he would become incredibly more powerful.

In the Dragon Ball Super anime, he led Team Universe 7 during the Tournament of Power.

“Gohan’s performance in the tournament differed depending on the anime or manga version of the story,” ComicBook.com reported. “But it was made clear that at this point in the franchise, Ultimate Gohan is at least as (more?) powerful as Super Saiyan Blue, or the fused Super Saiyan Kefla.”

He even outperformed powerhouses Goku and Vegeta. During the Dragon Ball Z Cell Saga, Gohan became the first to go Super Saiyan 2, pushing the who cast to new power levels.

Gohan fans have high hopes for him in the anime movie. Hopefully, the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero merch preview alludes to more exciting things for the Saiyan down the line.
