Since the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, several celebrities and government officials have tested positive for the virus. Because there is currently no vaccine or medication for the disease available, the only way to slow down the spread of the virus is for as many people as possible to self-isolate and drastically decrease the number of people that they come in contact with.

Despite these measures, Kevin Durant recently tested positive for the virus. As Drake had just hung out with Durant, he is now concerned that he may have the virus as well.

Kevin Durant and Drake’s contact

On Mar. 11, Drake hung out with the Brooklyn Nets player at The Nice Guy in California. The next week, Durant tested positive for the virus.

“Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine,” Durant told AthleticNBA. “We’re going to get through this.”

Three other Nets also tested positive for the virus.

“Of the four, one player is exhibiting symptoms while three are asymptomatic,” the team said, according to HollywoodLife. “All four players are presently isolated and under the care of team physicians.”

When the news broke of Durant’s results, Drake posted a picture of himself hanging out with Durant, along with the caption, “life is a race and the grim reaper catches up…till then glasses up.”

Drake recently flew back to Canada, where the prime minister, Justin Trudeau, has ordered that all people returning to the country must be under a 14-day quarantine.

Other basketball players with coronavirus

The NBA canceled the rest of the basketball season after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for the virus.

He apologized on Instagram for being so cavalier about the virus prior to being infected.

“I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of concern and support over the last 24 hours,” he wrote. “I have gone through so many emotions since learning of my diagnosis…mostly fear, anxiety, and embarrassment.
The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. At the time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously. I will do whatever I can to support using my experience as a way to educate others and prevent the spread of this virus.”

“I am under great care and will fully recover,” he said. “Thank you again for all your support. I encourage everyone to take all of the steps to stay safe and healthy. Love.”

Steph Curry was also showing symptoms of the virus but was able to determine that he was just suffering from the flu.

Other celebrities have also tested positive for coronavirus, including Tom Hanks and Idris Elba.

Hanks and Elba are both in good condition following their test results and have both warned people to take the virus seriously and to do all that they can to distance themselves from others for the time being.

The cases of coronavirus in the U.S. have been increasing daily as the nation tries to find a way to slow down its spread.
