Duggar Family News: Jedidiah, Jason or James Duggar, Who is Lauren Caldwell Dating?
Lauren Caldwell is only peripherally connected to the Duggar family. Her older sister, Kendra Caldwell, is married to Joseph Duggar. Still, she’s appeared on Counting On multiple times, and Duggar family followers are pretty committed to the idea she will eventually marry into the Duggar family. As it stands, family followers have connected three Duggar boys to Lauren. So is she dating any of them? There is a decently solid case for a romance between Lauren and Jason Duggar, Jedidiah Duggar, and James Duggar. Whether an actual courtship announcement will be made is another story entirely.
Rumors first swirled that Lauren Caldwell was dating Jason Duggar after a mission trip
The first time that Lauren was linked to a Duggar boy came in the spring of 2019. The internet went wild when a Facebook user claimed that Jason Duggar was in a courtship. The user alleged that they were a tour guide during a church trip to Greece that Jason took. The user wrote that Jason and his “bride” invited her back to the states to visit them once they returned home. The “bride” in question was reportedly named Lauren.
Internet sleuths did some digging and discovered that Lauren was on the same trip, and family followers quickly ascertained that the pair were secretly courting. The rumors died out the same year. Jason, a small business owner, doesn’t appear to be any closer to courtship than he was back in 2019. Lauren or any other girl, for that matter, doesn’t seem to be in the picture.
Months later, a case was made for Lauren Caldwell dating James Duggar
After nothing came of Jason’s reported courtship, family followers noticed that Lauren appeared to be getting cozy with one of the younger Duggar boys. During the birth of Kendra and Joseph’s second child, Lauren and James Duggar were seen standing suspiciously close to each other. In another episode of Counting On, it appeared as though they were holding hands, too.

Around the same time, James began spending more time with the Caldwell family. He was present during several family outings and appeared to be deeply involved in the church where Lauren’s father, Paul Caldwell, is a pastor. Once again, nothing came of the rumors.
Now it looks like Lauren Caldwell is courting Jedidiah Duggar
More recently, Lauren has been linked to Jedidiah Duggar. Jed, who recently ran for a political seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives, is 22 and the 10th child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. The U.S. Sun alleges an insider claimed Lauren and Jed are secretly engaged, and he might be why Lauren ended her previous relationship. Rumors about Jed’s possible involvement with a woman swirled in November 2020, when Jessa Duggar posted a video where Jed appeared to allude to a girlfriend.
Coincidentally enough, Jed was once rumored to be involved with Lauren’s sister, Kendra, before she married Joseph. In 2019 several publications suggested that Jed had his eye on Kendra, but his older brother swooped in and stole his girlfriend. Reportedly, he was asked to step aside since Joseph was older than him.
Wasn’t Lauren Caldwell engaged to someone else, though?
While there have been vague clues that Lauren is dating one of the Duggar boys for more than a year, no definitive proof has been brought forward. The dreams of a second Caldwell-Duggar wedding seemed to die back in October 2020. In the fall, the Caldwell family excitedly announced Lauren’s engagement. It wasn’t to a Duggar boy like everyone assumed it would be, though. Instead, they announced that Lauren was set to marry a man named Titus Hall.
Little is known about Titus and Lauren’s relationship, but the engagement was a short-lived one. Within a couple of months, Lauren and Titus called off the relationship. Neither the Caldwells nor the Halls has spoken about what happened, but Duggar family followers seem convinced that Lauren ran back to one of the Duggar boys. Which one is anyone’s guess. If Lauren is dating a Duggar boy, the announcement likely will not come soon. It would be considered in poor taste for Lauren to announce two different engagements in 12 months.
