Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) Week 2 is a wrap, but fans are not happy. The judges gave Netflix’s Tiger King star Carole Baskin a higher score than 18-year old actress and YouTuber Skai Jackson. Viewers have a lot to say about the slight.

How was Carole Baskin’s second performance on ‘DWTS’?

After dancing to “Eye of the Tiger” last week, Carole Baskin and her pro partner, Pasha Pashkov, picked things up with a Viennese Waltz to “What’s New Pussycat” by Tom Jones. The Tiger King star wore animal print again, but this week it wasn’t pink and orange. She wore a black-and-gold animal-print with a matching tiara.

“That’s a big improvement,” judge Derek Hough said after the performance. “I was impressed. And it’s a 10 for the set, that was amazing.”

The other two judges also gave the 59-year-old better reviews than last week.

“Your performance was shining!” Bruno Tonioli added. “There was hope! It’s not perfect, but there was hope!”

The scores saw a marked improvement with a 16 out of 30 this week compared to the 11 out of 30 last week.

“Overall, well done,” Carrie Ann Inaba praised.

Skai Jackson stumbled during her Samba

Skai Jackson is the youngest celebrity to compete on DWTS in the history of the show. The 18-year-old actress and YouTuber is dancing with Alan Bersten this season. This week she danced the Samba to “Miss Independent” by Ne-Yo.

During the dance, Jackson stumbled and used her pro’s hair to pull her back up. However, she kept going and recovered well.

“A setback sets you up for a comeback,” Judge Derek Hough told Jackson after the dance.

However, the judges were harsh when they scored her performance. All three judges gave her a five, for a total of only 15 out of 30, which was a full six points lower than her first week’s score.

Fans feel the judges were too harsh on Skai Jackson over Carole Baskin

“Despite the slight stumble, I thought all 5’s were a bit harsh,” one fan wrote in the comments of the YouTube video. “Sure it wasn’t as good compared to last week, but it was still a good dance. A pair of 6’s would have been more fair if they were deducting points.”

Other fans felt that it was absurd that Baskin received a higher score than Jackson.

“They seriously gave Carole Baskin a higher score than Skai Jackson on #DWTS,” one fan tweeted. “Then 2 of the judges decided to save her from elimination based on her dance ability. WHAT?!”

Jackson did not go home, so she has a chance to redeem herself next week. However, fans feel that Baskin should have been eliminated.
