Like many singers, Allen’s journey in the music business was filled with challenges. In 2007, Allen left Delaware to move to the country music capital Nashville, Tennessee. Allen’s early years in Nashville were filled with hardships, with Allen having no money and living in his car. The singer auditioned for America’s Got Talent and American Idol but didn’t fare well in advancing.

However, Allen’s luck changed in 2017 when he signed with Broken Bow Records. In 2018, he released his debut album, Mercury Lane. The record’s first single, “Best Shot,” became a hit and was certified Platinum. As Allen’s success grew as the country music world took notice of the newcomer. In April 2021, he won New Male Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards. Two months later, his second album Bettie James Gold Edition, was released.

Allen isn’t the only country singer to appear in the ABC reality competition. According to CountryNow.com, former contestants include Sara Evans, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Wynonna Judd. During season 16, Kellie Pickler and her partner Derek Hough won the competition. Now Allen hopes to add the mirrorball trophy to his mantle of awards. But he’s got tough competition from Melanie C and Suni Lee.

Although he’s a newcomer in the country music world, Allen has racked up a nice fortune. According to TheList.com, Allen’s net worth is an estimated $1.5 million. That number might increase following Allen’s appearance on Dancing With the Stars.

Aside from his professional life, Allen’s personal life is also growing. In May 2021, he married his longtime girlfriend, Alexis Gale. According to People.com, Allen and Gale are expecting their second child, a girl due in November. The couple is already parents to daughter Naomi, and Allen has a 7-year-old son from a previous relationship.
