Teyana Taylor and Iman Shupert are a power couple. The pair have been in headlines over the past few months while their docuseries We Got Love Teyana & Iman was airing. Now, Shumpert has joined another show as he’s a contestant on the reality competition Dancing With the Stars. This has fans wanting to know more about the NBA player and his wife including who has the higher net worth.

What is Teyana Taylor’s net worth?

Taylor has done much more in her career than singing and songwriting. She’s also an actor, choreographer, director, reality star, and model.

She got her first taste of reality TV in 2007 on MTV’s My Sweet Sixteen. She’s appeared on the big screen as well in a number of films including Coming 2 America. Taylor choreographed Beyoncé’s “Ring the Alarm” video in 2006 and signed with Kanye West’s GOOD music label in 2012. But in 2020, Taylor shocked fans when she announced that she was retiring from the music business because she felt that the label did not appreciate her work.

“I’m retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that I can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work and passion put in was indeed loved and supported somewhere in the world,” she wrote on Instagram under an image of her 2020 Spotify Wrapped. “I ain’t gone front [I’m] feeling super underappreciated as an artist, receiving little to no real push from the ‘machine,’ constantly getting the shorter end of the stick, being overlooked.”

Taylor has plenty of other projects to focus on and according to Celebrity Net Worth and SlotsUp, she’s currently worth $5 million.

What is Iman Shumpert’s net worth?

Shumpert is a professional basketball player who was drafted by the New York Knicks with the 17th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. The shooting guard also had stints with the Sacramento Kings, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Houston Rockets, and the Brooklyn Nets. During his time with the Cavs, he played with LeBron James and was part of the team that won the franchise’s first championship in 2016. Shumpert last played for the Nets and is currently a free agent.

Like his bride, the athlete has been involved in the music business as well. He released his first rap single “Knicks Anthem” and the mixtape Th3 #Post90s in 2012. The following year he put out “Dear Kendrick” in response to Kendrick Lamar’s verse in the song “Control” by Big Sean.

Today, Shumpert is estimated to have a net worth of $30 million per Celebrity Net Worth.

Taylor’s reaction after learning Shumpert would be on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

On Sept. 8, it was announced that Shumpert would be joining the cast of celebrities on Season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. The athlete was paired up with pro Daniella Karagach who came in third place in season 29 when she danced with rapper Nelly.

So how did Shumpert’s choreographer wife react to the news?

“Teyana laughed,” Iman told E! News. “She laughed but it quickly turned into her competitive spirit to say I better win. It’s one of those things where we’ve seen it, we don’t watch the show like we’re not all sitting down glued to the TV watching the show. We’ve seen it and the times that she’s seen it the way she critiques it she just feels like it’s something I’d be able to win as long as I actually focus on the art form and dancing and not so much staying in my comfort zone. I’m looking to go outside my comfort zone a little bit.”
