Tyra Banks has made headlines since she was confirmed as the new host of Dancing With the Stars. The model was tied to a rumor that she had banned The Real Housewives stars from competing on the ABC dance show. Bethenny Frankel’s name came up in the report and she was quick to react. However, a rep for Banks is coming out and debunking all the allegations.

What did Tyra Banks allegedly say about ‘The Real Housewives’ stars?

Banks joined the DWTS family this year and was met with controversy over her hosting style. The America’s Next Top Model alum is a huge personality and audiences are needing more time to warm up to her. However, a new report this week alleged that the ballroom competition presenter had made it clear she didn’t want celebrities on the show from The Real Housewives.

“Tyra is the new boss and made it clear that she didn’t want any more Housewives in her ballroom,” a source told OK! Magazine. “She thinks the show needs to aim higher and only book the ladies after everyone else has passed. Several ladies from the Bravo franchise have already made it clear that they would love to put on their dancing shoes, but Tyra doesn’t want any of them right now.”

The ABC competition show has had reality stars from The Real Housewives throughout its history. Erika Jayne, Lisa Vanderpump, and Lisa Rinna from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have all competed for the mirrorball in seasons past. From the Atlanta franchise, Nene Leakes, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, and Kim Fields have also put on their dancing shoes.

Despite this precedent, Banks allegedly feels that the likes of stars like Bethenny Frankel, Nene Leakes, and Teresa Giudice “do not make headlines anymore,” according to the insider.

Bethenny Frankel claps back

Frankel was mentioned in the report and she never misses a moment to make a headline. The RHONY alum tweeted at Banks and flexed that the casting director has been asking her to join DWTS multiple times.

“Good to know Tyra Banks has clumped me in her no more housewives mandate on Dancing With The Stars,” Frankel said in a since-deleted tweet. “Also good to know their casting director Deena, who I [love] has asked me to be on that show multiple [times] in the last decade. I’m also no longer a housewife, but nobody is bigger than the game Tyra.”

After Frankel deleted her tweet, she shared another tweet clarifying why she had removed her comment.

“I deleted that last post Bc I really like & have a great relationship with Deena Katz from #DWTS,” she tweeted. “If @tyrabanks wants to come on my podcast, she is welcome anytime as she has built a successful brand on her own in her own way. #justbwithbethenny.”

Tyra Banks’ rep responds

Banks has not directly addressed the reports, but her rep did release a statement debunking the allegations.

“This is 100 percent untrue,” publicist Elana Rose told Page Six. “She’s a huge fan of the ‘Housewives’ and everyone knows Tyra is a businesswoman first. As a businesswoman, why would she say anything against the ‘Housewives’? She has nothing to do with casting.”

Rose also said that Banks loves watching The Real Housewives and even tried to get one of her friends on the show. Banks also has ties to the Bravo reality series as she modeled with Cynthia Bailey from RHOA and Eva Marcille got her start on ANTM.
