How to Watch Episodes of ‘Tom and Jerry’ Before the Movie Hits Theaters
These two are always getting into trouble, even decades after their animated series premiered. With the Tom & Jerry movie premiering in a few months, some fans are turning back to the original television show to catch up with this unlikely duo.
Here’s how to stream episodes of the vintage series, Tom and Jerry, as well as where fans can buy physical and digital copies.
Is the original series, ‘Tom & Jerry,’ available on Netflix?
Although the Tom and Jerry series has since come to an end, there are a few ways to binge-watch this original television series.
The easiest way is with a subscription to HBO MAX, a streaming service that functions as an extension of the premium television network.
There, four seasons of this animated series are listed and available for viewing on any device. Because this series is available on HBO MAX, it’s not streamable on rival subscription services.
That includes platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. However, there are a few other ways to watch episodes featuring Tom and Jerry.
Some episodes of ‘Tom & Jerry’ are available on YouTube
YouTube Channels like WB Kids have episodes of this vintage series for free. That includes a compilation of the best moments for characters Quacker, Nibble, and Tyke, and some “Cat-ch Me If You Can” moments.
Episodes of the 2014 adaptation, The Tom and Jerry Show, still play periodically, thanks to television networks like Boomerang. Even some episodes of The Looney Tunes Show are available on the Boomerang YouTube Channel.
Although there are several years worth of Tom & Jerry content to view, some episodes are available for purchase thanks to Warner Bros. and retailers like Amazon. Both the Blu-ray and DVD copies of Tom & Jerry: Golden Collection, Vol. 1 are available on Amazon and the company’s website.
The ‘Tom & Jerry’ movie premieres during 2021
Fans haven’t seen the last of this unlikely duo, though. Tom & Jerry return for one antics in their upcoming full-length film that combines live-action and animation. The upcoming half-live-action film stars Ken Jeong, Michael Peña, and Rob Delaney, mostly following Chloë Grace Moretz’ character.
Moretz portrays Kayla, a human who finds herself entangled with Tom and Jerry’s rivalry after the two are booted out of their homes and find themselves in New York City. This film is produced and released by Warner Bros. Pictures.
“It’s really exciting; it’s going to be nothing like you’ve ever seen before. It really integrates live-action with animation seamlessly,” Moretz said during an interview with Screenrant. “And it’s different than any of the movies that you’ve seen out there right now with that; it’s more indicative of the older films.
