‘Euphoria’: How Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles Really Felt About the ‘Larry’ Scene on the Show

If you’ve been watching HBO’s new show, Euphoria, then you know that the show is not for the faint of heart. It deals with everything from drug abuse to explicit sexual intercourse and more.

The show follows Ru, played by Zendaya Coleman, as she tries to navigate through life after suffering a drug overdose. When Ru meets Jules, who has just moved to town, Ru struggles to figure out what her feelings are towards Jules.

While Ru is the main character and narrator of the show, Euphoria chooses one character a week to focus on outside of her. Last week’s episode focused on Kat, a classmate of Ru’s who was just starting to break into the world of dominating men on the internet.

Years ago, Kat had become famous for writing fan fiction. Her most notable story was one that focused on the relationship between former One Direction bandmates, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Stlyes. The fanfic “Larry Stylinson,” showed the boys engaging in sexual acts and claimed that the two had a secret love affair going on the entire time they were in the band.

How do Tomlinson and Styles feel about the episode?

Tomlinson recently claimed that he was not asked for permission before the episode aired.

“I can categorically say that I was not contacted nor did I approve it,” he tweeted in response to a fan who said “just going to sit and hope that they for some reason approved it because surely they had to to get it aired. 😭😭 Harry seems quite friendly with the people involved but u can just TELL Louis is not gonna like it 😬.”

Styles has not commented on the whole situation.

How did fans react to the episode?

Fans were not feeling the whole “Larry” portion of the episode. Some were upset by the storyline and blamed things like this for Styles and Tomlinson not being friends anymore.

“I’ve never watched Euphoria and I don’t plan on watching it, but this s**t is so nasty and embarrassing. Things like this are the reason why they’re not close anymore,” one fan tweeted. “And the fact that they used Harry and Louis’ real names makes it worse. lawsuit wya.”

One Directioners were not going to take the scene lying down.

“I watched the episode, Euphoria really screwed with the wrong group dude, Directioners are not here to play, and Louis and Harry DID NOT deserve this,” another fan wrote.

Mostly fans felt that the show disrespected the former bandmates.

“I’m so annoyed that Euphoria is actually gonna have an animated sex scene between Harry and Louis,” another person tweeted. “It’s so disrespectful to them and the backlash it’s gonna have.”

“When are people going to stop involving Harry in sexual fantasies for TV/movies…between After & Euphoria I’m over it,” one disgruntled fan wrote. “He deserves so much better.”

While fans were outraged at the situation, Styles does follow Jeremy O. Harris, a consultant for Euphoria, on Twitter. Harris tweeted about the episode before it came out, so Styles may have known what was coming.

“Harry followed this guy, who is part of the Euphoria team like a month ago or so,” one fan said. “He also followed Zendaya. I think he is aware of what happened.”
