After months of radio silence, Netflix released a deluge of Stranger Things information on Feb. 17, 2022. The news included in the new Stranger Things Season 4 posters tease the four separate plotlines that make up the upcoming season and when for fans to expect the show to return. Ross and Matt Duffer, creators behind the series, also confirmed that it is nearing its conclusion and will end after season 5

The news dropped quickly yesterday, so it’s understandable if some fans missed potential clues about the upcoming season. Let’s look at all the clues hidden in the Stranger Things Season 4 posters.

'Stranger Things' Season 4 poster 001 shows Hopper walking between Joyce and Murray in the courtyard of a Russian prison

‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 poster 001 shows a dead Demodog, blood splatter, and guns

If you thought you saw the last of the Demodogs in Stranger Things Season 2, we hate to be the bearer of bad news. In the first poster released, Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) walks in between Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman) in the center of a prison. Snow covers the ground, and a big, red area glows (presumably a gate to the Upside Down) in front of them.

However, if you zoom in to look at some of the more minor details, you’ll notice that a dead Demodog lies in the snow near the gate. Fans learned that the Russians got their hands on a Demogorgon in the mid-credits scene from the Stranger Things Season 3 finale.

Blood splatter covers portions of the snow. Plus, many guns and other weapons litter the snow around Hopper, Joyce, and Murray.

Poster 002 focuses on Eleven, but there’s a catch

Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) lost her powers at the end of Stranger Things Season 3. In the Stranger Things Season 4 poster focuses on Eleven. She wears a flannel over a long-sleeved shirt and khaki pants. This matches up with the person standing in front of a giant explosion fans saw in the “Welcome to California” teaser. Unfortunately, it looks like Eleven gets her head shaved again.

The poster also shows a broken mirror with a young Eleven’s reflection. This could hint at her character possibly experiencing a flashback of the lab or even a result of Vecna creating an imaginary world similar to the Upside Down. We know the Hawkins Lab Massacre plays a significant role in Stranger Things Season 4, and this poster seems to tease that incident.

Fans might also notice a crushed coke can. This is a reminder of Eleven’s time in the lab as a child when Dr. Brenner conducted experiments on her. A room with a rainbow painted on the wall gives viewers a glimpse of the Rainbow Room, which Kali mentioned in Stranger Things Season 2.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 poster 003 features the Creel House

The third Stranger Things Season 4 poster released shows Steve, Dustin, Nancy, and others in what looks like an attic in an old house. The Creel House plays an essential role in the upcoming season. New character Victor Creel is accused of murdering his wife and two children back in the 1950s. He now stays at a psychiatric ward, but a lot of evidence hints at Victor possibly being innocent.

Clock imagery has played a big part in many of the teasers released for Stranger Things Season 4. This poster includes an old grandfather clock stuck on the three o’clock hour. Max is the only person looking back on this poster which hints at her character having a more prominent role this season. Her stance is similar to Eleven’s stance on the season 3 poster. This could also indicate Max having a significant storyline this season.

A new friend makes up the group in Lenora Hills, California

Eduardo Franco plays the new character named Argyle in Stranger Things Season 4. The poster includes him, Jonathan (Charlie Heaton,) Mike (Finn Wolfhard,) and Will (Noah Schnapp). The Surfer Boy Pizza van is parked to the left of Argyle. From teasers, it looks like the guys spend some serious time in that van. Leaked set photos show the van at what appears to be Hawkins High School. It seems like the group might take a road trip back to Hawkins.

Out of everything on this Stranger Things Season 4 poster, the bicycle next to Will seems to be the most symbolic. The way it’s lying on the ground is similar to the way authorities found it in Stranger Things Season 1. However, it seems unlikely Will goes missing again

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 premieres exclusively on Netflix on May 27, 2022.
