Fans are counting down the days until Magnolia Network finally launches on cable. For now, Fixer Upper devotees can catch a couple of new episodes of the series reboot via the discovery+ app, plus promos of some other new content. But they’re most excited for the official launch of the brand-new network.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Magnolia premiere date, including information on Chip and Joanna Gaines’ streaming app, which will be available even sooner.

Magnolia Network has way more than just home renovations

Chip and Joanna decided to step back from the HGTV show Fixer Upper in 2018, which was arguably the height of their popularity. Fans feared they would never see the shiplap-loving couple again.

But then, the Gaineses announced they’d signed on for bigger and better things. Magnolia Network would take a holistic approach to entertainment that went far beyond just home renovation reality programming.

“Our intention with this network is to create and curate content that inspires, encourages, and helps to build bridges across our communities,” the former Fixer Upper hosts said in a joint statement. “We want honest, authentic programming that brings families together.”

Fans can watch Magnolia Network on cable beginning in 2022

Originally, Magnolia was supposed to debut in October 2020. But that goal got delayed following the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and industry-wide shutdowns.

Now Magnolia is scheduled to premiere on cable in January 2022. It will be branded under the Discovery Network, which includes other beloved channels like TLC and HGTV.

This news is bittersweet for home renovation television fans who also enjoy the DIY Network. That’s because Magnolia will be replacing DIY when it airs. Some popular shows on DIY will get moved while others will becanceled.

The Magnolia app provides even more Gaines-approved content

January 2022 will be here before we know it. But in the meantime, discovery+ subscribers will gain access to all Magnolia content beginning in July 2021. That includes a full lineup of Fixer Upper: Welcome Home episodes, including never-before-seen episodes.

The Magnolia app will also become available in July. It’s being described as, “a first-of-its-kind, immersive digital brand product providing a home for all things Magnolia, including exclusive workshops, easy-to-use shopping experience and more.”

Discovery+ subscribers will also have access to the app, Parade reported. Some fans aren’t too excited at the additional fee associated with yet another streaming app. But accessing Chip and Joanna’s content ahead of their cable TV debut might be worth it.

New shows are being announced on Magnolia all the time

One silver lining to the Magnolia launch delay is it gives more time for the Gaineses to find new talent for their network. Even pre-launch, four new shows have been added to the Magnolia roster, which all help enhance the depth of coverage.

Magnolia will feature shows about organic gardening, cooking, entertaining, music, art, and historical preservation. Home renovations will be a focus too, but they’re not the only type of content. Fixer Upper fans are going to love learning about all the stories the Gaineses want to tell.

It won’t be long until Magnolia takes over the world. And we wouldn’t want it any other way.
