Everything We Know About Sofia Richie and Kourtney Kardashian’s Complicated Relationship

It’s no secret that Kourtney Kardashian wasn’t the biggest fan of Scott Disick’s girlfriend, Sofia Richie, in the beginning.

When the pair first started dating back in 2017, Kardashian made it perfectly clear that she wasn’t on board with her ex being in a relationship with someone 15 years his junior.

But, after seeing how happy the model made Disick, Kardashian decided to give her a chance. Though it appeared the two women were finally on good terms, it now seems like there could still be some tension between them.

Kardashian and Richie were getting along great at one point

When Disick first started dating Richie in 2017, it took many people a while to get used to their relationship. One of those individuals being Kardashian.

Though she and the Lord ended their nine-year relationship two years prior, the reality star wasn’t entirely supportive of her ex dating someone much younger.

“The initial reaction from Kourtney when she found out that Scott was dating Sofia was not positive,” an insider told People in 2018. “Like most people, she thinks Sofia is way too young for him and doesn’t get it.”

Though she wasn’t a fan of their relationship, the Poosh founder soon realized that her ex was “doing so much better” with the young model in his life and could see how happy she was making him.

“He has very much shaped up in the past few months,” the source continued. “Kourtney is happy Scott is doing better. Things between Kourtney and Scott are civil.”

Since Richie has become such a huge part of Disick’s life, Kardashian decided to try and get along with the young model and appeared to have been making a valiant effort.

From vacationing in Mexico together to doing family activities with Kardashian and Disick’s three children, it definitely seemed like everyone was getting along.

Kardashian even revealed during her May 2019 Paper magazine cover shoot that she was on good terms with Disick and Richie, sharing that their amicable relationship was “probably the thing I’m most proud of.”

Though Kardashian’s relationship with Disick and Richie seemed to be getting better with time, we questioned if things were still going smoothly after their extremely awkward family trip to Finland.

During an October 2019 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kardashian, Richie, and Disick took a luxe vacation to Europe with the kids for spring break.

While the reality star wanted to get to know the model a little more while on this trip, things got pretty awkward when Disick expressed how uncomfortable the situation was making him.

“It is a really awkward situation,” Disick said during the episode, while Kardashian dubbed the circumstances “bizarre.”

“I want you and Sofia to be comfortable, but it does take a toll on me,” he later tells his ex. “This trip has so much pressure.”

While Disick may have been uncomfortable with the situation, Kardashian said that traveling with her ex and his new flame was “really fun and easy.”

“I know we don’t have to travel together, and I don’t think we’ll take every trip together, but it was totally not awkward,” the reality star said. “We are doing our best to make everything feel super normal for the kids.”

Though it definitely seemed like Kardashian and Richie were getting on pretty well during the trip, the model’s latest comment has us now thinking otherwise.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the opening of the Marcell Von Berlin flagship store in Los Angeles on Feb. 4, Richie shared that she’s going to be standing clear of KUWTK in order to pursue a new career.

“Well, because I want to get into acting!” she explained. “I feel like, for a while, I kind of held back on things because I was afraid of failure, but 2020 is [the year of] no fear! I’m gonna be doing acting stuff really soon.”

Sources are now claiming Richie was bullied by Kardashian

After announcing that she was done with the hit E! series, many began to speculate that there’s an even bigger reason why Richie is steering clear of the show.

Many are convinced that Kardashian’s ill-feelings toward Richie, in the beginning, had something to do with her no longer wanting to be part of the series.

While that has yet to be confirmed or denied, Radar Online recently reported that the model has been a victim of Kardashian’s bullying and finally came to her wit’s end.

“Sofia has literally spent years biting her lip and dealing with all of Kourt’s attitude, but now she’s totally done with it,” an insider exclusively told the outlet. “She’s taking the initiative and making it known that she won’t be bullied or talked down to anymore.”

Richie’s even unfollowed Kardashian on Instagram which has us thinking it hasn’t been smooth sailing for them as of late.

While it seemed like they’d finally buried the hatchet and were getting along, there’s really no telling if the celebrities are still maintaining that friendly relationship.
