D’Andra Simmons operates two companies outside of ‘RHOD’

In 1996, D’Andra Simmons’ mother, Dee, founded natural and wellness company Ultimate Living after her breast cancer diagnosis inspired her to live a healthier life.

The Bravo star also educated herself on skincare and nutrition and joined her mother’s company fulltime in 2004. Simmons then created her own subsidiary business, natural skincare line Hard Night Good Morning, four years later.

After Dee’s husband passed away, she lost her interest in the business, so her only daughter wanted to run the company. However, Mama Dee had a hard time letting go of the main keys.

In 2017, Simmons joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Dallas, and many of her storylines focused on the growing tensions between her and her mother.

When Mama Dee finally released the reigns, the reality star realized the business wasn’t doing well financially and only had three months to recover before the company had to close its doors.

Even though Mama Dee initially refused to help, she later came around after realizing bad decisions were made before Simmons became the acting president.

‘RHOD’ D’Andra Simmons also dabbling into the film industry

In a July 2020 phone interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, the CEO revealed she is currently in the testing phase for a new product, a mood balancer she’s adding to her line.

Additionally, she revealed she’s working on another product for the liver and kidneys to boost the immune system. Simmons also wants to get into essential oils, specifically those for face and well being, as well as eyelashes because she’s always enjoyed makeup.

The reality star and her husband, photojournalist Jeremy Lock, recently served as associate producers for upcoming drama film, My Brother’s Crossing. According to Simmons, the executive producer, Tony White, reached out to her husband when they were in the middle of filming.

Lock recently covered the highly publicized trial of former Dallas police officer, Amber Guyger, who shot and killed Botham Jean after entering the wrong apartment. Initially set to release on April 8, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the movie premiere.

Simmons called it “a perfect film for the perfect time in our country” as it centers around forgiveness and moving forward.

The 51-year-old stated she has a few more film-related projects in development in which she might have some appearances.

D’Andra Simmons reveals plans to launch cooking YouTube channel

On top of her expanding her business and getting into the film industry, Simmons also plans on starting a cooking-based YouTube channel. She explained she’s “very excited” about showing off “her big passion” as she loves to cook and eat.

The reality star doesn’t plan on stopping with the channel as she eventually wants to release a cookbook. While her book has been complete “for a while,” she hasn’t done anything with it because she wants to establish herself as a food personality first.
