Fans think it is unfair that Meghan Markle ‘gets more bad press than Prince Andrew’

Since Meghan is one of the most popular royals around, it’s not unusual that she would get a lot of press attention. However, fans believe that, these days, it is off-putting that more negative articles are written about her compared to Prince Andrew.

“How is it Meghan Markle has had more bad press than Prince Andrew?” rugby player Ashton Hewitt wrote on Twitter.

Another Twitter user agreed, writing, “Not only bad press, Meghan was dehumanized and harassed with some people of the British public, bullied throughout her pregnancy and that was a target to harm Archie. This is not right!”

While Meghan has been residing in Los Angeles and taking on charity work to help those affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Prince Andrew has resigned from his public role after he was accused of being involved in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case.

Many people believe Prince Andrew should face consequences for his alleged involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein case

Back in June, it was revealed that the U.S. government had been trying to question him as a person of interest in the ongoing investigation into Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes. Newsweek reported that more than half of British citizens surveyed believed Andrew should be extradited to the U.S. for questioning.

Additionally, many citizens Newsweek talked to also believed he should be stripped of his titles. The outlet reported that royal biographer Nigel Cawthorne said, “Prince Andrew is virtually retired and can no longer carry out royal duties. So surely he should give up the HRH title and the money he receives from the Privy Purse.”

Cawthorne added, “Harry and Meghan, who were upset about losing their HRH, will be thinking it’s a little bit unfair Andrew gets to keep his.”

Queen Elizabeth Could Have Made 1 Arrangement for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to Stay in the Royal Family

While the royal family has not publicly commented on Andrew’s situation, a lot of onlookers have accused Queen Elizabeth of protecting her son.

In January, a source told The Sun, as reported by IBTimes, “Andrew has always been her favorite son, not least because she spent more time with him than any of her other three children… She will always protect Andrew, and they often talk on the phone, or when he is at Buckingham Palace, where he still has a flat.”

Meanwhile, Meghan allegedly revealed in recent court documents that she felt “unprotected” by the royal family when the press was attacking her during her pregnancy. Despite negative stories about her being published constantly, the royal family’s PR team did not do much to dispute the claims made against Meghan. As reported by Entertainment Tonight, this caused “tremendous emotional distress and damage to her mental health.”
