With his vibrant personality, muscular figure, and perfectly tamed hair, he became a fan favorite and standout member on the show. But a recent photo from the reality star has fans confused and wondering what’s going on. Is this really him or did Pauly D somehow get replaced with a doppelgänger?

Fans are used to seeing Pauly D with slick hair and a clean-shaven face. But when he posted a selfie to Twitter on April 24, he had what he calls a “quarantine beard.” The picture shows him with a full beard, mustache, and peach fuzz.
Not too long after sharing the post, Pauly D had received hundreds of reactions and his name had surged to the top of Twitter’s trending topics list.

Tons of people rushed to react to the photo and commented on how wildly different Pauly D looked. Many barely recognized him and just couldn’t get over his appearance.
“I was about to say ‘hahaha this person looks like Pauly D’ but it really is just Pauly D looking like someone pretending to be Pauly D,” read one tweet.
“why does Pauly D look like Ronnie dressed up as Pauly D……..” read another message.
A third person directly went at the Jersey Shore alum, asking him, “Who the f*ck are u and where the f*ck is pauly d.”
Echoing that, someone else inserted the viral clip of Keke Palmer where she admitted that she did not know who a certain well-known person was. “I hate to say it, I hope I don’t sound ridiculous, I don’t know who this man is. I mean he could be walking down the street I wouldn’t know a thing. Sorry to this man,” she said in the clip.
Even though the photo caught many people off guard, a lot of fans are digging his new look.
One Twitter user mused that “Pauly D…D stands for DAMN.”
Another begged him to “never go back to a clean shave again please.”
Who knows what’ll happen. But it seems like this might only be a temporary change, given that so many businesses — including barbershops — are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. As of writing, Pauly D has not shared whether he intends on keeping the beard.

Pauly D also turned heads in June 2019 when he posted a photo without hair gel. Fans couldn’t stop talking about how great he looked, gushing over the reality star on outlets such as Instagram and Twitter.
“Honestly your hair looks way better without all that crap in it,” read one tweet.
Another said, “Sweet lord he is perfect.”
But it didn’t last long. He was back to his perfectly slicked hair before fans knew it.
