Fans Think People Need to Stop Expecting Kendall and Kylie Jenner to Be ‘Relatable’

Kendall and Kylie Jenner are the youngest Kardashian-Jenner siblings. The two sisters were kids when their family found fame on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Since they were little, people have tried to look for instances when Kendall and Kylie are relatable to average folks. However, some fans are now saying this is placing an unrealistic expectation on them.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner grew up on TV

When KUWTK premiered, Kendall was 11 and Kylie was 9. The two girls ended up spending their tween and teen years on TV. Fans watched as they learned about puberty, got their first jobs, started driving, and experienced other events as a part of growing up.

For Kylie, who is the youngest out of all her siblings, her life has played out so much on TV, it feels as if she has always been famous. She told Harper’s Bazaar in 2019, “Honestly, I don’t remember a time when I did have privacy. I feel like I just grew up in it and so I figured out a way of living that is comfortable for me.”

Thanks to their family’s success, Kendall and Kylie have been given a leg up to pursue successful careers themselves. Kendall is now a supermodel while Kylie is the owner of a beauty empire.

Fans think it’s unrealistic to expect Kendall and Kylie Jenner to be ‘relatable’

There are many people who seem to judge Kendall and Kylie based on how “relatable” they are. For example, they have been criticized for their extravagant spending, luxurious lifestyle, and out-of-the-ordinary behavior. However, some fans are now saying that this expectation for them to be down-to-earth is unrealistic given their background.

“I don’t understand why people get bent out of shape every time Kylie or Kendall showcase how un-relatable they are,” one person wrote on Reddit. “They literally know nothing else besides this bat shit crazy lifestyle their mom and sisters pushed them into. I think it’s important to hold people accountable when they need to be, but I find it strange most of the heat still falls on Kylie and Kendall when Kris, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe at least had normal upbringings.”

Another fan agreed, writing, “They grew up in the spotlight, there was no way they could turn out relatable.”

Kendall and Kylie Jenner seem to value their privacy a lot

Kendall is one of the most private members of her family. She doesn’t appear on KUWTK very often and is known for keeping many details of her life private.

Kylie is more open about her life than Kendall. She posts many videos of herself and even had her own reality show at some point. However, even Kylie sometimes feels the negative parts of fame and would like to imagine having a normal life.

For example, in 2016, she told Complex Magazine, “I don’t hate my life. I’m happy. But everything that comes with it—the paparazzi and not being able to do normal things? I’ve been famous for what feels like my whole life. I just want to know what it feels like not to be.”

KUWTK will come to an end in 2021, so it might soon be easier for Kendall and Kylie to leave the spotlight if they choose to do so.
