Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke Reveals the Touching Advice Khloé Kardashian Once Gave Her on ‘The X Factor’

In her new memoir, Fifth Harmony's Ally Brooke opened up about the memorable advice the reality star gave her during their X Factor days, noting that Kardashian's indelible words helped her get through a tough time in her life.

Though Khloé Kardashian is often receiving advice from family and friends, there have been times she’s dished out some wise guidance to those in need of it.

In her new memoir, Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke opened up about the memorable advice the reality star gave her during their X Factor days, noting that Kardashian’s indelible words helped her get through a tough time in her life.

Khloé Kardashian helped Ally Brooke overcome overwhelming grief

While competing with Fifth Harmony on The X Factor in 2012, Brooke experienced the ultimate heartbreak.

Before hitting the stage along with the rest of the 5H ladies to give their week four performance, the singer learned that her grandfather Paul had passed away and was instantly overcome with overwhelming grief.

Though the cast and crew of The X Factor rallied around Brooke as she mourned her grandfather’s death, one person helped her the most during that difficult time — and it was that season’s co-host Khloé Kardashian.

Like Brooke, the Good American founder also lost an important figure in her life — her own father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who died after a battle with esophageal cancer in 2003. So, when she heard of the singer’s loss, she immediately empathized with her.

In Brooke’s newly released memoir, Finding Your Harmony: Dream Big, Have Faith and Achieve More Than You Can Imagine, she recalled the moment when Kardashian comforted her as she grieved her grandfather’s passing.

“One of the hosts that season was Khloé Kardashian. Radiating warmth, she pulled me aside, giving me a big hug, and I cried in her arms,” the singer writes. “‘I am so sorry for your loss,’ she said. ‘I lost my dad [Robert Kardashian] when I was very young. Even to this day, it’s still hard. But I’m here for you, and I’m praying for you and your family.'”

Brooke adds that Kardashian also gave her a little advice. “‘One thing that I’ll tell you is don’t let anybody tell you how to grieve,'” Kardashian told the singer. “‘If you want to cry, cry. If you want to try to be happy, be happy. But you grieve in the way that you grieve.'”

Ally Brooke still cherishes the advice Khloé Kardashian gave her

Though it’s been eight years since Brooke’s conversation with Kardashian, she still appreciates the reality star’s sympathy during that difficult time.

While recently speaking with HollywoodLife, the “No Good” singer shared just how much Kardashian’s kind words meant to her while recalling the memorable advice she gave.

“I’ll never forget that moment,” Brooke shared. “She was so compassionate and loving and thoughtful enough to really open up — in her own way — about her loss and to help me, I thought that that was something so beautiful and moving and it touched me!”

Brooke added that she continues to cherish the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s advice, noting that their meaningful exchange hasn’t left her since that fateful day.

“It touched me enough to write about it. It still didn’t leave me,” she continued. “I’ve had many losses since then as you kind of read on in the book and that advice really never left me. Having [Khloe’s] love and having so many people’s love, helped me to get on that stage that night and it was so hard. I’ll never forget just how agonizing it was, but at the same time, just to be able to do it and getting that advice from my parents.”

Though Brooke hasn’t seen Kardashian “in a really long time,” she hopes the reality star knows just how much she appreciates her memorable advice. And even if Kardashian didn’t know this before, there’s a good chance she does now thanks to the singer’s new memoir.
