Is Billie Eilish’s Brother Finneas O’Connell Engaged?
Finneas O’Connell and his sister Billie Eilish have become some of the most recognized musicians over the past few years. In contrast to Eilish, who is often in the spotlight because she’s the artist who sings the music, O’Connell remains more of a background figure, leading many curious fans to wonder even more about his personal life.
Finneas O’Connell is a Grammy-winning artist
Eilish’s music career is thanks in large part to O’Connell. The 23-year-old musician has collaborated with his sister as her producer and songwriter since she first started singing five years ago.
At the 2020 Grammy Awards, Eilish became only the second artist in history and youngest person ever to sweep the four major categories: Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Record of the Year for her number-one single “bad guy,” and Album of the Year for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? The album also took home the prize for Best Pop Vocal Album.
O’Connell shared four of those wins with his sister, as well as two wins of his own for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical and Producer of the Year, Non-Classical.
In 2021, O’Connell and Eilish took home two more shared Grammy Awards: Record of the Year for “Everything I Wanted” and Best Song Written for Visual Media for Eilish’s James Bond theme “No Time to Die.”
Finneas O’Connell’s girlfriend
O’Connell has stood alongside his sister as they both rose to the top of the music heap in the past few years, but O’Connell himself had someone else standing with him: his girlfriend, Claudia Sulewski.
Sulewski is an actor as well as a YouTube personality with a following of her own. Sulewski has appeared on TV shows including Runaways, Versus, and The Commute. She’s also been his muse, as he’s admitted to writing songs about her including one simply titled “Claudia.”
The two have been dating since the fall of 2018. In 2020, they bought a home together in Malibu worth $5.2 million and have been happily raising a rescue pit bull together. They even started a podcast together to document their (mis)adventures, aptly titled We Bought a House.
Finneas O’Connell isn’t ready to marry Claudia Sulewski yet
Things seem to be moving fast between O’Connell and Sulewski, but don’t expect to see a ring on her finger any time soon. In a joint interview with Us Weekly, O’Connell laughed off a question about proposing to Sulewski with a simple “Nope, not yet.”
Sulewski isn’t in any kind of rush either. “I think moving together was such a fun and great step, and adopting a dog” the actor said. “We’re so happy to be doing those things. I think right now we’re so grateful to be able to spend this time together, you know, in this period of unknown and uncertainty.”
