In Friends With Benefits, Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis play best friends who happen to be sleeping together. The film poses the age-old question: can friends sleep together without catching feelings?

Spoiler alert: they can’t. At least, this is the case for the characters Jamie and Dylan, who end up professing their love to each other in the middle of a flashmob while “Closing Time” blasts in the background.

But apparently, the chemistry between their characters isn’t as sizzling off-screen because Kunis fell asleep in the middle of one of their sex scenes!

Do Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake believe a ‘Friends with Benefits’ relationship can work?

While sitting down with Elle, Timberlake and Kunis were asked whether or not they believe a friends with benefits relationship can work. According to both stars, it can be tough, because someone will wind up getting hurt.

“It is such a good idea—until it’s a bad idea,” said Timberlake.

“I concur,” said Kunis. “Ultimately, it ends when someone wants to go and get serious with somebody. More times than not, a person catches feelings, and somebody gets hurt.”

According to Kunis, she fell asleep in the middle of a sex scene with the “Summer Love” singer.

“What happened, and what started this wonderful rumor, was we were at the end of like a 17-hour or 20-hour workday,” said Kunis, according to NWI.com. “It was a scene where Justin had to kiss my shoulder, or maybe my back. And my face was turned away from the camera.”

“We were doing inserts, little cut-in shots, at the end of the day,” Timberlake chimed in.

“You literally only see my shoulder and maybe my hair,” said Kunis.

“The camera’s on me and her back,” said Timberlake.

“But Justin had taken a nap during the day because he knew it was going to be a long one at lunchtime,” said Kunis. “And I hadn’t. I didn’t.”

“You need your naps,” Timberlake adds.

“So when I realized that I wasn’t going to be seen on camera, I very politely asked if it would be OK if I closed my eyes for a minute,” spills Kunis. “I think it’s important to tell your co-star when you’re about to take a nap in the middle of a scene. And being the gentleman and wonderful co-star that he is, he went, ‘Oh, sure.'”

According to Kunis (via The Huffington Post,) she had a hard time filming the sex scenes with Timberlake. She said of her bedroom scenes with the “Cry Me a River” singer, “(we) got to have very uncomfortable scenes for two weeks.”

Another uncomfortable aspect of filming the movie was that she had to be practically naked in front of a number of crew members.
“I mean, regardless, there’s like 150 crewmen watching, and you see each other’s bits and pieces,” she said. “The whole thing is just wrong.”
