After less than a year of dating, celebrities G-Eazy and Ashley Benson broke up in February 2021. The pair kept their relationship relatively low-key, and both have seemingly recovered well. In fact, some of Benson’s fans already want her to start dating another famous musician.

G-Eazy and Ashley Benson started spending time together in April 2020. They recorded a cover of the Radiohead song “Creep” that month. In May, photographers caught them kissing. Over the next several months, tabloids speculated about the nature of their relationship, which went from casual to series throughout the year.

In October 2020, G-Eazy (real name Gerald Earl Gillum) told Entertainment Tonight about his experience working with Benson, who he deemed “an exceptionally talented person.” “Putting her in front of a microphone and watching her sing so effortlessly, she has this very special tone of voice and texture,” he said.

Why did G-Eazy and Ashley Benson break up?

Though a unique year in many regards, G-Eazy and Ashley Benson were able to show off their relationship on social media throughout 2020. Most notable was their couple’s costume for Halloween — he dressed up as Batman while she donned a leather catsuit to portray Cat Woman. But their happiness was short-lived.

In February 2021, reports broke that the pair had split. “Ashley and G-Eazy fell hard for each other fast,” a source told Us Weekly. “Everything moved very quickly, and they were obsessed with each other. Recently things took a hard turn for the worse.” The source also stated “they were arguing all the time” and that Benson “ended things.”

Benson commented on a photo of Demi Lovato

But life moves on. Both G-Eazy and Ashley Benson continue to post to their social media accounts, with the artist clearing his Instagram of his now-ex and the Pretty Little Liars star unfollowing him in return. They each have their own projects to focus on, as well as their own friends to interact with.

Weeks after the breakup, singer Demi Lovato shared a few shots from a recent photoshoot on Instagram. The first photo, in particular, drew a lot of attention, as Lovato’s nipple and nipple piercing are visible through her shirt. Benson was among those who commented on NSFW image, posting three heart-eye emojis, followed by “demi!!!!!!!!!”

Of all the celebrities — including Lovato’s friend Miley Cyrus‘ younger sister, Noah Cyrus — Benson’s comment received much of the attention. Reply after reply poured in, with users writing that they “ship” the two and encouraging them to “date” and “kiss.” One even wrote, “We shall be in the front row at the wedding.”

Though there’s no reason to believe Benson and Lovato are more than friends, both have expressed interest in members of the same sex before. Lovato refers to herself as queer, while Benson previously dated model and actor Cara Delevingne for nearly two years before splitting in early 2020.
