It’s not so cold in here–there must be a hot mama in the atmosphere. Gabrielle Union, the actress known for her roles in Bring It On, 10 Things I Hate About You, Top Five, Love and Basketball, and Think Like a Man, turned 47 this past Tuesday. Union married NBA player Dwayne Wade in 2014 and gave birth to their daughter Kaavia in November of 2018. She is also the stepmom to Wade’s three children.

The internet spent Tuesday marveling at Union’s youthful and vibrant appearance on her 47th birthday. The former America’s Got Talent judge clearly has some aging tricks up her sleeve.

Gabrielle Union’s 47th birthday was Tuesday, October 29

Twitter couldn’t seem to handle that Gabrielle Union turned 47 this week. And honestly, neither can we.

One fan tweeted, in response to a birthday tweet for Gabrielle Union, “This just made me realize I been thinking she’s 27 for like twelve years now.” Another tweeter compared his own age and looks to the actress’s, writing “Yet at 41 I look like banana peels.” Big same, Eric.

“Why do I know teenagers that look older than you,” another Twitter user responded.

The ‘Bring It On’ star reveals her secret on how to look good at any age

Gabrielle Union retweeted a birthday message on Tuesday, clueing us mere peasants in on how to achieve her positively royal glow.

After MEFeater magazine tweeted out “happy birthday” to the actress, Union responded with the answer to the question we were all asking: what’s her secret to looking this good?

“Secret you ask,” Union tweeted. “… water, tequila, boundaries & an extra helping of accountability.” She capped off her advice with a black heart and a flexed biceps emoji.

What a combo! Lots of water is a must, of course. Tequila–that’s just great to hear. But accountability and boundaries? Gabrielle Union, a queen among us, reminding us it’s OK to have a little fun (drink tequila), but also that being healthy is as much about mental health and self-care as it is about diet and exercise.

Her followers took note (and literally tweeted GIFs of note-taking). One tweeter asked the logistical questions: “Is that 1 part water, 2 parts tequila, 2 parts boundaries & 3 parts accountability? Asking for a friend.”

What can we say, it’s Gabrielle Union’s world, and we’re just living in it.

Gabrielle Union stuns in Halloween costume with her baby girl

This past weekend, Gabrielle Union got us all in our nostalgic feels by dressing up as her Bring It On character, Isis. The Clovers cheerleading captain got her daughter in on the fun, too, dressing baby Kaavia in an adorable matching green uniform.

Not shockingly, Gabrielle Union slayed the midriff cheerleader outfit. The late-40s mom continues to prove that beauty is not limited by age.

One Twitter user wrote, “Science has some explaining to do.”

“Lawd she’s fire,” tweeted another fan.

Happy birthday to the cutest 47-year-old Clover in the atmosphere.
