What are the nominees for Most Anticipated Game besides ‘Breath of the Wild’ at the 2021 Game Awards?

Nintendo‘s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel has some stiff competition at the 2021 Game Awards. Five games total have nominations for Most Anticipated Game.

The list of the nominees includes Elden Ring from FromSoftware/Bandai Namco, set to release on February 25, 2022. Then, God of War Ragnarök from Sony Santa Monica/SIE plans a vague 2022 release date.

Meanwhile, Horizon Forbidden West from Guerrilla Games/SIE focuses on a February 18, 2022 release date. The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild from Nintendo has a vague 2022 release date.

Then the last nominee, Starfield from Bethesda Game Studios/Bethesda, plans to release on November 11, 2022.

What does each game hold in store for players?

All five nominees have a planned 2022 release date, some early in the year, some later. 2021 Game Awards contender Breath of the Wild 2 has only confirmed 2022 as a release date.

Elden Ring tells the story of the Tarnished who was banished from The Lands Between. With the titular Elden Ring now shattered, you build your very own Tarnished and set out on a quest for glory in the aftermath of a great war, the gods of old actively decaying all around you, GamesRadar reported.

The story of God of War Ragnarök should sound familiar to fans of Marvel’s Thor. It follows Kratos and Atreus venturing to the Nine Realms for answered on the Norse end of the world.

Then Horizon Forbidden West sees Aloy set out to the titular Forbidden West to find the source of a mysterious plague.
