Gashi’s height and background

Labinot “Larry” Gashi, born October 4, 1989, in Tripoli, Libya, is of Kosovo Albanian origin and stands at six feet three inches tall. In a HipHopDX interview, Gashi opened up about his impoverished upbringing. He said his parents escaped war and moved to Africa, where his mother gave birth to him and his sister.

They then moved to 24 European countries, and Gashi made money for his family as a child by performing Michael Jackson moves on Munich, Germany streets. They eventually migrated to the United States, and settled in Brooklyn, New York, in the late 1990s.

Learning English proved to be very difficult for Gashi, and he turned to music, quickly becoming engulfed in rap. After graduating from high school, he played at a Division 2 school in Massachusetts under a football scholarship.

Even though he did well in school during his first year, he decided to drop out and pursue music. He began working on his first mixtape under the moniker The Kid Gashi, and then dropped it to Gashi, then G4SHI, before officially changing it to GASHI as it stands now.

Gashi’s music career

The 29-year-old rapper won several music contests including “First Time Performances” of First Look Sessions throughout 2010 and 2011. He released his first project, a mixtape called Last of a Rare Breed in 2011, and it featured songs with the late Nipsey Hussle and Moroccan rapper French Montana.

Gashi dropped one more project, I’ll Be Right With You (2013), before going viral in 2016 by dancing to his song, “Disrespectful.” The video, filmed by his mother, received millions of streams in under three months, resulting in a management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.

He then took a meeting with RCA Records and impressed the executives with a passionate freestyle. They promptly signed him to a deal on the spot. The rapper has since released a few extended plays and singles and will drop Gashi as his debut album on RCA Records.

The project, a follow-up to last year’s extended play Stairs 2, will drop sometime this year. However, it does not currently have a release date.
