Gavin Rocker Opened up About Relationship With Esonica Veira and Why He ‘Can’t Respect’ Her Anymore

Gavin Rocker and Esonica Veira appeared on Temptation Island Season 2 to figure out if they should take the next step in their relationship or call it quits.

Even though fans had the most hope that Gavin and Esonica would stay together of any of the couples, the former pageant beauty left the island with someone else. At the same time, Gavin didn’t make any strong connections and wanted to continue the relationship.

Seemingly, the majority of fans took Esonica’s side and genuinely believed she “grew” from her experience. However, in an exclusive with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Gavin clarified misconceptions, explained everything that went down on the island, and why his relationship with Esonica is over for good.

After meeting the 2017 Miss Virgin Islands in Atlanta, Georgia, during a movie shoot, the couple dated for around a year-and-a-half before appearing on the second season of Temptation Island.

According to Gavin, they had a “fun” relationship as they both have “big and charismatic” personalities. Still, the former football player felt like Esonica got offended too easily, was high maintenance, and had trust issues.

Additionally, the pageant beauty recently turned 30 years old and wants to get married, but Gavin “isn’t super pressed for marriage” because almost everyone in his family has gotten divorced, giving the security guard “fear of failure.”

Therefore, he took Esonica to Temptation Island to show her she could trust him and confirm if their relationship was worth keeping.

In the guy’s villa, Gavin seemingly only had a connection with Mia Metcalf even though he playfully sucked Payton Burgess’ toes. On the other hand, Esonica became very close to Kareem Thomas during her time on the island, slept with him on the last night, and chose to leave with him, even though they didn’t see each other again until the reunion.

Fans praised Esonica for “growing,” but asserted the security guard would have cheated if the single girls pursued him as aggressively as they did others. However, Gavin exclusively told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that he “denied several opportunities to hook up” with some of the women, including Medinah Ali.

He also said she was interested in him from the beginning, but he didn’t return the favor because he felt she was too “aggressive” and asked him for a goodnight kiss on the first night.

But, according to Gavin, Temptation Island did not highlight their connection because her storyline revolved around Rick Fleur. Even though the security guard wanted to fix his relationship with Esonica, he realized they weren’t compatible once they returned home.

Gavin Rocker clarified what happened at the reunion

Fans praised the pageant beauty for walking out of the reunion after Gavin “guilt tripped” her when he asked if she and Kareem had sex. However, the football player explained production made him and the guys binge-watch the entire season before the reunion separate from the women.

A producer informed Gavin he would see things he didn’t know about and asked Esonica if she told her man everything. The pageant beauty said she did, but Gavin found out what really happened only an hour before going on stage and could not talk to Esonica about it.

Therefore, he claimed he genuinely was blindsided and denied “guilt tripping” accusations. To add insult to injury, Gavin believes Esonica purposefully waited until there were no more bonfire videos to sleep with Kareem because she thought it wouldn’t be caught on camera.

Gavin Rocker explained why he would never take Esonica Veira back

In an exclusive interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Gavin explained everything his ex-girlfriend did throughout the season that has caused him to stop respecting her.

First, he claimed Esonica fabricated their issues and told people that Gavin never complimented her, didn’t care about her culture, and he suspects she put on a “tough guy persona” to validate her actions on the island.

According to the security guard, he did compliment Esonica often, but she didn’t believe him because she’s participated in pageants since the age of nine.

Gavin also said she “completely made up” the story about him not wanting to visit the Virgin Islands and clarified she only went back once since they’ve been dating, and it was in the first few months of their relationship.

Additionally, he claimed Esonica “played the victim” on television and lied on him “to look high and mighty,” but wanted to be with him privately. Even though the pageant beauty confessed to sleeping with Kareem in a text message after the reunion, Gavin said he “can’t respect someone like that” because she lied about it and was”sneaky” about it.

He also felt like she was a hypocrite because she accused him of sleeping with other girls in the villa. Overall, Gavin believes Esonica “switched up on camera,” so he has no intention of taking her back.
