On this week’s General Hospital comings and goings, Port Charles welcomes a soap opera veteran to the cast. This veteran has made a name for himself on other soap operas, but most notably on The Young and the Restless. Let’s take a look at how long he’ll be on the canvas.

Robert Gossett joins the cast of ‘General Hospital’

Fans who tuned in to the Oct. 18 of General Hospital were treated to a familiar face, even if they didn’t recognize it right off the bat. There was a man who was watching Portia and Curtis — something they’d suspected all along — and, as it turns out, that “man” is none other than Robert Gossett.

Gossett’s role, and the extent of his time on the show, haven’t been released to the public as of yet. But the spoilers already tease that his character will be interacting with Portia in the coming weeks. He’s next set to appear on the canvas this week, where — presumably — more details about his character will come out.

Portia, for her part, will be wondering what he’s doing in Port Charles. And, as we previously told you in our General Hospital spoilers, this will lead her to think things through. And, according to Soaps @ SheKnows, Portia will turn to Elizabeth to share her concerns.

He has a long and storied history on soaps

Though Gossett may be new to the General Hospital canvas, he’s no stranger to the entertainment industry. A first cousin of the legendary Louis Gossett Jr., Gossett is perhaps best known for his work on TNT’s hit show, The Closer. There, he starred as Commander Russell Taylor opposite Kyra Sedgwick.

But Gossett is also a soap opera veteran, as well. In addition to his work on The Young and the Restless, Gossett also starred in Santa Barbara. But Gossett has also starred in some films, including Batman Returns, White Man’s Burden, and The Inner Circle.

There’s some speculation that Gossett’s character is Curtis’s long-lost father. We’ll definitely be tuning in to upcoming episodes of General Hospital to see what’s going to happen there.

Other ‘GH’ comings and goings

Gossett’s character isn’t the only new face in Port Charles. According to SoapHub‘s latest General Hospital comings and goings, Charlotte Cassadine is coming back to the canvas. She’ll be played by Scarlett Fernandez, who shared her excitement on Instagram about rejoining the cast.

Fans of the show know that Charlotte is Valentin and Lulu’s daughter. It’s interesting that she’s making an appearance now that Anna and Valentin are moving closer together. Will her appearance interfere with their relationship?

But Charlotte most likely won’t be appearing on the show until November 2021. Fans will recall that Fernandez, her portrayer, suffered a serious accident that left her unable to work. But, General Hospital fans will be pleased to know that Fernandez made a full recovery — and now she’s back on the canvas. We can’t wait to check out the young lady in the role that she made famous.
