Eden McCoy has been on ‘General Hospital’ since 2015

McCoy is one of the current young actors on General Hospital. She plays Josslyn Jacks, the teenage daughter of Carly Corinthos and Jasper “Jax” Jacks.

Ever since McCoy joined the cast in 2015, Josslyn’s role on the show has grown bigger and bigger. She and the other teenagers are often involved in story lines about school, romance, and conflict with parental figures.

Additionally, McCoy was a part of an emotional story line involving the illness and death of her boyfriend, Oscar Nero. As shared in an interview with Soap Central, McCoy’s work in these scenes went on to earn her a nomination at the Daytime Emmy Awards.

McCoy was touched by a recent hospital scene

McCoy is no stranger to providing viewers with touching scenes, and it seems she herself can get her heartstrings tugged on when watching General Hospital as well.

McCoy recently revealed that the recent hospital scene between with cast mates Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) and Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber) left her heartbroken. The scene involved Sonny being torn about what to do for his father, Mike (Max Gail), who is suffering from Alzheimer’s. Sonny wanted to have his father kept alive by a feeding tube, and Elizabeth offered her honest opinion about his condition.

“I watched and OMG, you, Becky and Max just killed as always,” McCoy tweeted at Benard, her on-screen stepfather. “I completely forget I know you IRL. You’re Sonny, Liz and Mike, and you broke my heart!”

Sonny found himself in a tight spot when it comes to his father’s deteriorating health conditions. As mentioned before, he initially wanted to keep Mike alive by a feeding tube. However, some people around him, such as his wife Carly, were against the idea.

At the hospital, Sonny learned that another Alzheimer’s patient who had been attached to a feeding tube was not doing so well. He also had a heart-to-heart with Elizabeth, who told him her honest thoughts on Mike’s situation.

“When I saw your dad just now, all I saw was a shell of a man,” she shared. “There’s no spark left inside. He can’t feed himself. He can’t enjoy his food. He can’t even smile. He won’t go to another baseball game or enjoy his grandchildren or his son. What kind of life is that?”

She added, “Even with a feeding tube, your dad is going to die.”

Elizabeth’s words clearly touched Sonny. With everything he had learned that day, Sonny eventually decided to not have his father on a feeding tube.
