‘General Hospital’: Fans Don’t Like the Harmony Recast
General Hospital has a talented cast of characters, including Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel). However, like many soap operas, the producers may have to recast a role, even if it’s temporary. Recently, the show had to replace Cadranel with Priscilla Garita as Harmony. So far, fans aren’t warming up to the recast.

Fans know to expect the unexpected at General Hospital. On the March 10 episode, viewers were shocked when they tuned in to see another actor playing Harmony. Instead of Cadranel, former Sunset Beach star Garita filled in for Harmony.
Of course, panic ensued with viewers who wondered if Cadranel had been fired. However, their fears were diminished upon learning that Garita’s stint would be temporary. For fans, this is good news because they’re ready to have Cadranel back in the role.
Viewers chimed in with their negative reactions to Garita’s performance on a Reddit thread. “She’s not working for me,” wrote one user. “Yeahhh. Not working. She recites lines like she was not briefed on the character’s background and history at all,” another commenter chimed in.
“There is something off about her, like she’s too cold and robotic. Real Harmony comes off as at least more warm for the lack of a better word,” a fan replied.
Reason for the recast
General Hospital fans will soon be seeing Cadranel back as Harmony. According to Soaps in Depth, Cadranel’s absence is because she was diagnosed with COVID. With Cadranel out, the show looked for a temporary recast with Garita.
In recent years, the how has relied on temporary recasts for storyline purposes. Former Passions star Lindsay Hartley stood in for Kelly Monaco as Sam McCall in August 2020 and February 2022. Recently, Holly Kaplan played Monica Quartermaine during the March 15 episode when Leslie Charleson was unavailable.
Recasts have been hit or miss with soap opera fans. Some performances like Hartley as Sam were a hit, while Garita as Harmony wasn’t. But viewers will be thrilled to see Cadranel return, and she’s coming at an exciting time.
Harmony Miller is about to be part of a huge storyline
Harmony has become a significant character in General Hospital. Since her arrival in February 2019, the former Dawn of the Day cult member has turned her life around to become a prominent citizen of Port Charles. Harmony’s relationship with her daughter Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is a main focus of her storylines.
Their relationship has often been strained, and there will be more drama between mother and daughter. Harmony recently revealed to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) that Willow is adopted. Willow’s biological mother is unknown; however, speculation is Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is the girl’s mother.
Fans have always believed Nina and Willow are mother and daughter. Their suspicions are confirmed when Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) recognizes Harmony as a fellow nurse that worked at the same hospital where Nina was kept in her coma. With Phyllis knowing Harmony’s secret, it’s only a matter of time before the truth is exposed.
Harmony will have a lot of explaining as she tries to repair her relationship with Willow and her friendship with Nina.
