Epiphany Johnson may be a recurring guest on the show General Hospital, but she does leave a mark on many fans. Many viewers of the hit soap opera might not know who the no-nonsense nurse is, but Epiphany has been on the show for quite some time.

Who is Epiphany Johnson on General Hospital?

Epiphany Johnson was introduced to the hit show general hospital as the head nurse replacement for Audrey Hardy, according to Soaps In Depth. Her dedication to her job and the no-nonsense attitude make her a fan favorite guest character on the show. Epiphany isn’t shy about voicing her opinion, even if it makes others uncomfortable.

As the show progressed, fans were stunned to learn that Stan Johnson, who worked for the mob boss Sonny Corinthos as a computer expert, was Epiphany’s son. The head nurse didn’t like the idea of her son working for a dangerous man like Sonny. Despite expressing her disdain for her son’s job in the mob, she could not convince him to quit.

In a rather unfortunate turn of events, Epiphany heard her son’s death over the phone after Jerry Jacks put out the hit. She later suffered a heart attack due to her son’s death. Luckily, she was found in the hospital’s locker room, and doctors managed to revive her.

In 2015, Epiphany crossed paths with Sonny Corinthos after he nearly died from getting shot. Epiphany helped the mob boss recover from his gunshot wounds. She even pushed him to make a full recovery, but unfortunately, Sonny hid his recovery from his friends and family for his safety.

When the hospital was facing financial troubles, it was imminent that the nursing staff would get chopped significantly. Epiphany banded the whole nursing wagon together to stage a sick-off to save their jobs. Fortunately, Dr. Hamilton Finn saved the hospital by donating the cash earned from selling the patent lifesaving drug.

The Nurse’s Ball and Epiphany Johnson’s involvement

The Nurses’ Ball is an annual event held at Port Charles Hotel and attended by many of the town’s citizens. Several acts headline this event, including singers, dancers, and actors. The event was founded by Lucy Coe in 1994 to raise funds for awareness and research on HIV and AIDS. This year’s event was a tribute to all the nurses on the coronavirus (COVID-19) frontline.

As the head nurse at the hospital, Epiphany Johnson is always actively involved in the annual event and often takes the stage to perform some songs. Sometimes Epiphany takes on solo songs, and other times she performs a group number with the rest of the staff at GH.

Many viewers voiced their opinions of having the head nurse appear more on the show.
