Controversial though they may be, General Hospital has certain mandates in place when it comes to COVID-19. And those who wish to work on the production must follow them if they are to remain employed. Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays Alexis Davis, has nothing but high praise for the General Hospital production crew for this mandate. However, even as she praises this mandate, the fate of one of her castmates remains in limbo for this same reason. Mandates and vaccine controversy aside, though, the production is reportedly preparing for some great surprises during sweeps week. So, if nothing else, fans have that to look forward to.

‘General Hospital’ star Nancy Lee Grahn praised the production for their mandates

According to Metro, Grahn — a veteran of General Hospital — revealed that her employers remain the only ones to have a vaccine and mask mandate in place when it comes to COVID-19.

“@GeneralHospital still remains ONLY Daytime Serial to mandate vaccines. Kudos to the leadership of @valentinifrank @ABCNetwork & @DisneyStudios,” she wrote on Twitter, according to the outlet. “Smart leaders listen to science & protect their employees. As of Nov 1st entry to #gh requires a proper vaccine card. No exceptions.”

What’s interesting, though, is what she chose to answer when asked about her co-stars’ stance on vaccines. “It’s not my place to expound on that,” she wrote on Twitter. “It’s theirs. Ask them.”

But Steve Burton’s fate remains uncertain

While Grahn has nothing but positive things to say about her employers, it’s unclear if the same can be said for her co-stars. While rumors continue to circulate that Steve Burton has been fired from General Hospital, nothing has been confirmed or denied by him or by the production as of this writing.

“To be absolutely clear, there is absolutely no evidence presented about General Hospital star Steve Burton’s vaccination status or his status with the show. As of this writing, Burton hasn’t publicly commented about either one,” we reported.

But there’s some speculation that these answers — and more — will be answered when sweeps week comes up. Sources close to the crew suggest that all the answers will be revealed during that time.

The production is planning some Sweeps Week surprises

The Sweeps Week is in full swing for soaps, and General Hospital is planning on pulling out all the stops. According to Soaps @ SheKnows, what fans have already seen is only the tip of the iceberg for what’s to come.

“Well, November Sweeps are in full swing, and General Hospital was dropping surprise bombs left and right. However, there is also a fair amount of predictability still with some of the storylines, especially the one that needed to be over with a year ago,” reported the outlet, who added that they believe the Peter storyline should have been dead and buried a long time ago. And, there’s probably some validity to that.

Regardless, though, it’s worth it to tune in to General Hospital this week as the Sweeps continue.
