If you’re a General Hospital fan, you’re aware that there are times that the soap will periodically get pre-empted. This week, unfortunately, may be one of those times. Christmas is a special time of year for everyone — and that includes the networks. As such, General Hospital may be one of the shows that are pre-empted this week.

‘General Hospital’ was pre-empted for the Thanksgiving holiday

During the week of November 21, General Hospital fans only got to watch new episodes of the show for three days that week. The Thursday episode of the show was pre-empted for the Thanksgiving holiday, and the Friday episode of the show was a repeat. However, there was a lot of drama to be packed into three short days. That week, Valentin had uncovered the truth about Brook Lynn. (And, yes, folks, that means he knows the truth about the baby!) To say he was angry about it would be the height of understatement.

And the show will be pre-empted on Christmas eve, too

Unfortunately for General Hospital fans, they won’t be able to watch a new episode of the show on Christmas eve, either. This week, the show will only air new episodes for four days. The Christmas eve episode will be a repeat of the February 23, 2021 episode.

‘General Hospital’ Weekly Recap: Carly Spots Sonny & Nina Getting Cozy…And All Hell Breaks Loose

On that day, according to Soaps.com, Anna reached out to Peter and Maxie reached out to Nina to offer support.

It will feel strange watching some old episodes of the show, especially since we know where the storyline progresses from that point on. However, that will be a perfect time to get some much-needed R&R, because the next week will feature a lot of high drama in Port Charles.

When will new episodes of ‘GH’ begin airing again?

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, new episodes of General Hospital will begin airing on December 27. And at that time, there will be plenty of drama to go around — and to catch up on. The outlet reports that Nina’s case for fraud will take a “shocking turn” when Sonny decides to testify on her behalf. Ultimately, the spoilers tease that Sonny’s testimony will lead to the case against her being thrown out. But that’s far from the end of the drama — because she’ll still have Carly’s fury to deal with.

Meanwhile, Curtis Ashford will join with an unlikely force — in the form of Drew Cain — to get to the bottom of things.

“The results of Leo Falconeri’s (Easton Rocket Sweda) evaluation will come in while Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) gets a special present from Liesl,” reports the outlet. “There’ll also be some New Year’s Eve fun, so some great action’s coming up over the next two weeks.”

It sounds like these next few weeks on General Hospital will be quite the barn-burners.
