Kirsten Storms has returned to ‘General Hospital’ as Maxie

Fans of General Hospital were delighted when Kirsten Storms made a surprise appearance as Maxie on Friday’s episode.

Storms, who came off the canvas to get surgery for a benign cyst, previously revealed that she had every intention of coming back to the show.

“I will be back at work when this is over with,” she said.

Maxie showed up at the Tan-O and shocked Nina

Soaps @ SheKnows reports that Friday’s episode of General Hospital was one for the books.

Nina and Sonny/Mike (Smike?) were at the Tan-O, and Sonny/Mike was insisting that “love matters.” (Sure, we guess, Sonny.) After Sonny/Mike delivers more saccharine platitudes, he holds hands with Nina and leaves. Right as he leaves, Maxie shows up.

Nina was shocked — shocked, we say — to see Maxie. But now that she’s back, what could possibly go wrong? (In a word: everything.)

Who else is going to be in turmoil now that Maxie’s back?

Obviously, one of the biggest storylines on General Hospital involves the fate of Maxie’s baby. Brook Lynn has been passing the baby off as Valentin’s. But now that Maxie’s back, that’s going to come to an end rather quickly.

Meanwhile, now that Maxie has seen Nina, it’s only a matter of time before she spots Sonny/Mike. Nina knows if she doesn’t get Maxie out of Nixon Falls, Maxie will find Sonny/Mike sooner rather than later. And guess who’s going to get the first word if that happens? You guessed it: Carly, who’s already got second thoughts about her wedding to Jason.
