‘General Hospital’: These Two Stars Just Reunited and It Was Everything

Most soap opera stars don’t transition behind-the-scenes, but for one soap opera veteran who had been on General Hospital since she was a child, leaving the show meant she could do more primetime television directing. Years since her exit from the show as a full-time cast member, she’s built a major resume. Recently, she reunited with one of her on-screen mother and fans couldn’t get enough.

Finola Hughes and Kimberly McCullough are mother and daughter on-screen

Hughes and McCullough have played mother and daughter on General Hospital for over 30 years.

McCullough, as Robin Scorpio, the daughter of supercouple Anna Devane and Robert Scorpio, is one of the few actors in daytime soap opera history who played a role from a child to an adult.

The actress last appeared on the series in 2018 and was last a full-time cast member on the show back in 2012, before the character’s on-screen “death.”

Kimberly McCullough has retired from acting and is now primarily a TV director

McCullough confirmed in a post on social media recently that she has mostly “retired” from acting. If you miss her on-screen, it is good to know that she is slowly becoming a prolific television director.

Over the past several years, she has build an incredible resume which includes helming episodes of shows like Pretty Little Liars, One Day at a Time, The Connors, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and many others.

On New Year’s Eve 2019, she wrote on Instagram, “This decade I … Picked the right guy, lost a baby, had a baby, found my Jack, moved into my dream home, got my DGA card, worked with talented and kind people, retired from acting, became a Ojai mom , received a hand written [sic] note from Kyle MacLachlan and directed 25 episodes of television. It’s been a wild ride and I’m grateful.”

Fans were here for the reunion

General Hospital viewers were ecstatic when McCullough posted a photo of herself reuniting with Hughes.

“Awww two of my favs. I miss seeing you together on GH,” commented one fan. “I really thought when I was little, back in the 80s, that you guys were mother and daughter,” said another person.

Another person added, “Love you two!!! We need to see Robin on GH! It’s been a minute!!!”

“Miss you on GH Kim… y’all really look like Mom and daughter,” commented someone else.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
