Rose McIver’s Samantha and Utkarsh Ambudkar Jay finally started pulling their bed & breakfast dreams together. The CBS sitcom Ghosts Episode 4 saw the two try to woo their first possible customers. However, for Ghosts Episode 5, “Halloween,” are living or the dear departed spookier?

Sam and Jay tried to start their bed & breakfast dreams

Ghosts episode 4 kicked off introducing the rich next door neighbors, Henry and Margaret. They did not seem too keen on the bed and breakfast idea. However, the couple quickly hatched a plan to convince them.

The CBS sitcom episode description read, “Sam and Jay invite Henry and Margaret to a dinner party to woo them into allowing the bed and breakfast; the ghosts are desperately eager to be included on the guest list.”

Of course, the ghosts decide to invite themselves. Then, a mishap with Isaac (The Good Place‘s Brandon Scott Jones) starts the night off with a bang — or maybe a “smash,” more specifically.

In the end, Sam and the ghosts managed to work together. However, Sam and Jay may not have seen the last ofthe old-fashioned neighbors.

‘Ghosts’ Episode 5 pits the Woodstone country estate residents against something truly terrifying

In a show where most of the recurring cast consists of ghosts, how can episode 5 turn up the spooky factor?

The official episode description reads, “The ghosts try to help Sam and Jay protect their home from the neighbourhood kids who annually vandalize the house on Halloween.”

Since the ghosts can only slightly interact with the real world, it sounds like they have endured something truly horrific each Halloween: children.

Fans have seen some skills the ghosts have. Devan Chandler Long’s Thor can fiddle with electricity. Danielle Pinnock’s Alberta possesses a ghostly singing voice.

However, Hetty (American Horror Story: Murder House’s Rebecca Wisocky), Roman Zaragoza’s Sasappis, and other ghosts have yet to show their hand.

The Halloween episode could reveal more of the ghosts’ unique skills, though. If Sam and Jay want to defend the estate, they likely need all the help they can get.

‘Ghosts’ Episode 5 and the full-season order

Luckily for fans, Ghosts Episode 5 marks a new beginning. On Oct. 21, 2021, CBS gave the series a full-season order.

The Futon Critic reported that episodes 6 and 7 have titles and descriptions online.

The series explores Pete, played by Richie Moriarty, and his backstory who guest-starred on Orange Is the New Black in 2019. Sheila Carrasco’s Flower looks to be the focus of another upcoming episode.

And CBS wants plenty more episodes. Fans could finally receive answers the show has already set up. Did Alberta die from a murder plot? How exactly did Asher Grodman’s Trevor croak?

Then again, that last one might not hold the best answer, seeing as he died without pants. Ghosts Episode 5, “Halloween,” airs on Oct. 28, 2021.
