A lot was happening on the set of Gilmore Girls, during its seven-season run. Not only was there a potential love triangle on set, but several of the cast’s significant others appeared as extras. For example, Scott Patterson’s partner once appeared in the series and even reprised her role in the 2016 revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

Scott Patterson’s partner actually appeared on Gilmore Girls

Patterson’s partner, Kristine Saryan, appeared in Gilmore Girls in season 4, just as things were heating up between Patterson’s character, Luke Danes, and Lauren Graham’s character, Lorelai Gilmore. Saryan took on the role of Chrissy, Miss Patty’s dance assistant.

While some reports suggest the pair met on the set of Gilmore Girls, it would appear as though Saryan and Patterson were already in a relationship when she first appeared on the show. Reportedly, the pair got together in 2001. Saryan’s role came in 2004. Patterson and Saryan share one child.

She wasn’t the only spouse to grace the show either

Patterson’s wife wasn’t the only spouse to appear in the series. In fact, the show had a habit of bringing in members of the casts’ family as extras. Melissa McCarthy’s husband, Ben Falcone, had a small part in the series, too. Falcone appeared in the third season of the show. He portrayed a lawyer representing the estate of Fran Weston.

The showrunners didn’t just offer parts to its cast member’s romantic partners, either. Graham’s younger sister appeared in the series briefly, as did her cousin. Graham’s sister, Maggie Graham, appeared at Rory’s graduation from Chilton.

Lauren Graham reconnected with old friends through Gilmore Girls, too

While Graham, who portrayed Lorelai Gilmore on the series, was chronically single during filming, she connected with some old friends through the show. In her book, Talking As Fast As I Can, Graham noted that several of her friends appeared in the series. Chris Eigeman and Graham were old friends when he appeared on Gilmore Girls. Eigeman portrayed Jason Stiles, Richard Gilmore’s business partner, and Lorelai’s love interest, during season 4.

Graham eventually went on to find love, although it didn’t happen on the set of Gilmore Girls. Graham has been dating Peter Krause since 2010. The pair had worked together in the past, but sparks flew in 2010 when they began appearing in Parenthood together. Kelly Bishop, who portrayed Emily Gilmore, reportedly suggested Krause as a potential partner for Graham years before.
