Jo and Link have quite the history on Grey’s Anatomy. The two went to school together, and they continued to build their friendship throughout the years. Now, Link is Jo’s person, and he was even willing to apply to foster baby Luna so Jo could adopt her.

Meanwhile, Link formed a strong romance with Amelia, and they had a baby boy named Scout together. However, Amelia realized she didn’t want to get married, and the two seemed to end the relationship.

As time went on, Jo and Link started supporting each other more, particularly because they were both parents now. Amelia also seemed to spark something special with Kai Bartley (E.R. Fightmaster) in Minnesota. But on Thanksgiving, Amelia and Link hooked up.

Spoilers abouts what’s next for Amelia, Jo, and Link in episodes 7 and 8 of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 18

Despite what happened between Link and Amelia on Thanksgiving, the preview for Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 7 suggested that a new romance with Link and Jo could potentially blossom. In the teaser, Link admits he had a “huge crush” on Jo in the past. At first, the new OB/GYN resident looked at her person with disbelief. But then Jo realized Link was being serious.

Now, some Grey’s Anatomy fans are worried the show will ruin Link and Jo’s friendship. But for now, it seems unlikely the two will jump into a romantic relationship — at least right away.

Remember, Link just hooked up with Amelia on Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, the synopsis for Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 8, “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,” revealed that Link hopes to “spend the holiday with Amelia and Scout as a family.” So it doesn’t look like “Amelink” is over yet. That said, Link’s confession to Jo could potentially spark something down the line.

It seems Grey’s Anatomy fans aren’t the only ones with mixed feelings about Jo and Link. In an interview with Bustle from October 2021, Luddington admitted she feels conflicted with the friends getting together. Not only did the actor want Link and Jo’s relationship to remain platonic, she also hoped Link and Amelia would eventually “figure it out.” But at the time, Luddington wasn’t sure what a romance would look like for Jo and Link.

“If they stay friends, I get it, and I will love to watch them,” she said. “If the writers do decide at some point to make it more … I’ll be excited to see what that means and what that looks like for them both.”

Meanwhile, Fightmaster revealed they’re rooting for Kai and Amelia to get together, per Bustle. Scorsone also told Us Weekly that her character has an “exciting” new storyline that’s coming up in the episodes leading up to the Grey’s Anatomy midseason finale on Dec. 16. But does Amelia’s love life have anything to do with it? We’ll see.
