Camilla Luddington of Grey’s Anatomy is doing her part in practicing social distancing like the rest of the country during the coronavirus crisis. Trying to keep her 3-year-old daughter Hayden entertained while she’s expecting her second child, Luddington and husband Matthew Alan have been coming up with out-of-the-box ideas to make their home more fun while under quarantine.

Luddington makes a magical announcement

Fans were beginning to suspect that Luddington was expecting when she was continually being shown on the medical drama with her lab coat conveniently covering her in most scenes. On March 9, the actress went public with her baby news and asked for a Disney princess to join her in making the announcement.

“Me: “I’m just gonna do a super casual pregnancy announcement.”
Also me: “I NEED PRINCESSES!!!!!!” 👑✨💫🌟👑✨🌟💫👑✨🌟💫👑” Luddington posted on Instagram with a pic of herself with Cinderella gesturing to her belly. “Okay so… Matt and I are so happy to fiiiiinally post after months of “hiding” that i am pregnant! We are beyond excited to add to our little family and give Hayden a sibling.”

An active poster, Luddington revealed that she had been more sparse in her social sharing due to the physical effects of her pregnancy. “Yes, I’ve been away a lot from social media the past few months because OMGGGG the exhaustion and OMGGGGGG the morning (read: alllllll day) sickness,” Luddington wrote. “Have I been 🤮 mid filming at work? Yep! Oh the glamor of growing new humans 🤣. But in all seriousness, we feel so lucky and I can’t wait to bring you guys along for the remaining months of this baby #2 journey!!”

The Grey’s Anatomy star also thanked her pal Cinderella for making a cameo in her Insta pic. “*Shout out to the one and only Cinderella for helping me with this pic yesterday 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️” Luddington posted.

Doctor of decorating

Now quarantined with her husband and daughter, Luddington is creating ways to make their home more festive and fun to be in 24/7. Posting a pic on Twitter last week, the actress from the medical drama traded her doctor duds for interior decor materials.

“Strung up lights on the stairs today to make it more fun and cosy at home for Hayden (and us!),” she posted on Twitter with a pic of her staircase and railing decked out with multi-colored lights.

“Took our Christmas tree lights and we’ve renamed them our Easter lights :)” she wrote on the image. “Wanted to make our home more fun and cosy since we are spending all our time home.”

Luddington’s followers praised her decorating idea. “Wow it’s sooooo pretty,” one wrote. “i want to be this type of mom when i grow up omg.” another follower posted.

Some fans decided to replicate the design. “my mom told my dad to go dig out the christmas decorations to make things happier,” another tweeted.

Expecting during the unexpected

Like most pregnant women during this time, Luddington has been concerned over the protocol for expectant moms when it comes time for delivery. Over the weekend, she posted a New York Times article with some good news for those living in New York state.

“So. So. Happy. It’s already very stressful being pregnant during a pandemic,” Luddington tweeted on March 28. “I’m so happy to hear women will get the support they want during birth she’d been hoping for.”

When pregnant her first child, the Grey’s star had commented on trying to maintain her endurance through long work days, giving a shout out to other expectant moms. “All pregnant women are warriors,” she told Parents Magazine at the time. “It takes strength just to get up and go to work.”

Despite some discomfort, Luddington was buoyed by the thought of meeting her baby girl for the first time. “I’m finding myself counting down the days until she’s here, not because I want it to go quickly, but I’m just so excited to meet her,” she shared. “I want to see her face and hold her in my arms.”

Once again, Luddington is waiting for the same magic moment and is sure to let her fans know when baby #2 arrives!
