Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are a country-rock fusion. That means where they live will always be complicated. While Shelton is all country and has strong roots in Oklahoma, Stefani has called LA her home base for decades. She’s more pop-rock, so it makes sense her career would bring her to Cali, with all the other pop stars. For now, however, they’re living in LA

Stefani and Shelton bought a house in California together before the coronavirus pandemic began. They purchased their new home together in October 2019. The move probably has a lot to do with Stefani’s sons.

Stefani has three boys, Kingston, Apollo, and Zuma. A source told Us Weekly that Stefani wants them to be settled in LA for the start of school: “Gwen wanted to be moved in for the start of the school year, even though the kids are doing school at home because of COVID-19.”

Since they’re coming from Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch, the boys are probably used to a lot of space. Stefani and Shelton’s new reportedly still has enough space for them to run around and get messy. The source said the home is “very warm and inviting with a lot of space for the boys to tumble around and get dirty.”

There are also some impressive closets for Stefani and Shelton. The two “are very happy to be settled at last in their family home,” especially after the coronavirus lockdown kept them in Oklahoma for so long.

Stefani’s sons were born and raised in California, so they probably missed their home while they were quarantining on Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch. But luckily they get along well with their future stepfather. Stefani is constantly posting pics on Instagram of her son and Shelton.

They always look happy and relaxed. According to a source close to the couple, Stefani’s three boys have come to see Shelton as a father figure: “Those boys look up to Blake in a big way. He’s earned their respect as a father figure. He’s gone from being their friend to being a serious parental influence.”

Aside from hanging out with the boys, Shelton and Stefani have been making a lot of music while in Oklahoma.

Although they spent $13 million on a new home in LA, Stefani has suggested that they’ll be traveling back and forth from the sunshine state to Shelton’s home state. That’s the type of compromise that these two will have to make. They come from different places, and the good news is they’re strong enough as a couple to go back and forth to make one another happy

In fact, Stefani likes Oklahoma so much she wants to have a wedding there one day. Stefani and Shelton reportedly have two weddings planned. One in LA for her, and one in Oklahoma for him. “Oklahoma gives the couple more privacy and the possibilities are endless for a wedding reception people will talk about for years,” said a source.

Fans may be surprised to hear that these two are making wedding plans. For a long time, it seemed like they were going to wait for Stefani to get her previous marriage to Gavin Rossdale annulled before she married Shelton. But after the pandemic, she’s reconsidering her priorities. Now she feels that being married to Shelton is more important than anything, although they may have to wait to do it.

But these two don’t mind. Their casual attitude to the prospect of putting off their nuptials is a sign of how strong this couple is. Thanks to the pandemic, it’s unclear when Shelton and Stefani will be able to hold a big wedding. But when things let up, they’ll be ready.
